“I Wrote Your Name in My Heart,” story notes

I posted a tiny update to IWYNIMH: a small series of notes I'd meant to publish with the epilogue but forgot.

These are the notes I had to help myself keep track of the various ways Oliver says Felicity's name. Every variation of "Felicity" has a unique tone and is used to express something different, and this was how I kept it all straight in my head. The punctuation, italics, and capital letters were all used very deliberately so that every way Oliver said Felicity's name could be read differently, and thus SOUND different in the reader's head. I didn't necessarily expect everyone to pick up on this, much less to pick up on all of the nuances, but I knew it was something I had to do regardless.

You can check it out on AO3 if you want, but I’ll also post the screenshots below since it’s pretty short.

“Monopoly Means Dessert,” olicity sequel (rated E)

Monopoly Means Dessert

Rating: Explicit

Summary: Sequel to "Monopoly Means War." Oliver and Felicity are the only two left playing after a (not so friendly) game of Monopoly, which is good news, because the growing tension has finally reached a boiling point. Competition, teasing, and smut smut smut, with just the barest hint of plot.

AN:  You don't have to read "Monopoly Means War" to understand this, but you'll appreciate this story more if you do. Please heed the tags. Enjoy!

Monopoly Means Dessert

Oliver has no idea how anyone puts up with the two of them when it comes to playing games. But when Thea had suggested a quiet night in, Oliver and Felicity had both jumped at the chance to play a board game with their friends and family.

Thinking back on it now, he’s surprised (and impressed) that the team lasted as long as they did.

Oliver’s also surprised that he’s managed to make it four hours without jumping across the table and kissing Felicity until she can’t think straight.

He’s not sure how either of them has, to be honest.

This has always been the way with them when it comes to playing board games - and all other games for that matter. He’d found out over their long summer away together that when both of their competitive natures went head to head in a game, not a force on earth could stand between them.

Games of poker had ended growing friendships.

Games of charades had been abandoned for drinking games with shocking speed.

Games of pool had ended with them being politely asked to leave the bar.

In the end, they’d quickly learned that the worst way to make friends was to try and play games with them.

So instead, they’d begun playing games with just the two of them.

And those games?

Well, those games had always ended in sex.

“Monopoly Means War,” olicity s4 humor/fluff fic

Monopoly Means War

Rating: PG13

Summary: It was supposed to be a quiet, relaxing Fall evening. No patrols, no fighting bad guys, just a calm night in playing board games. But Felicity’s competitive streak turns to be just as intense as Oliver’s, and it’s not long before Thea, Diggle, and Laurel realize Monopoly was a huge mistake. A humorous fluff fest from Thea’s pov, filled with competition and banter, eye-rolling and alcohol, and enough sexual tension to light up a small city. Takes place in season 4, somewhere between 4x06 & 4x07.

AN: I wrote this last summer and just never got around to editing and posting it for some reason. I was prompted by one of @cammienray‘s “which half of your otp” tweets:

“which half of your otp takes board games more seriously than life and health”

My response was “I feel like they both would, tbh. No one ever wants to play with Oliver and Felicity because they’re both too intense. They try and outplay each other and get super competitive when everyone else just wants to have fun. They’re always the last ones playing.”

I don't tend to write humor fic, so this is kind of out of my wheelhouse, but I think I did it justice.

Enjoy!

Monopoly Means War

It was supposed to be a quiet, relaxing Fall evening. No patrols, no fighting bad guys. Just a calm night in playing board games.

Thea sinks lower in her chair, finishing off her third beer and sighing heavily as her brother accuses Felicity of cheating.

(“Read the rules, Mr. Queen!” Felicity shouts back. “That’s a legal move and you know it!”)

Yeah, she really should have known better.

It had been Thea’s idea in the first place. After a long, tiring week of chasing Damien Darhk’s Ghosts, everyone on Team Arrow had wanted to just relax and play a few board games. After Felicity had offered up the loft for the evening’s activities, Oliver had agreed to provide the snacks, Diggle and Laurel the alcohol, and Thea the games. After raiding the storage locker that held a variety of items she and her brother had taken from the Queen Mansion before they moved out, Thea had ended up with five good options.

Less than a minute into the game that everyone had agreed on, Thea already knew that she’d made a grave mistake.

She really should have left Monopoly behind.

“You have to roll to see who goes first, Oliver. Everyone knows that,” Felicity tells him, arms crossed over her chest. She sits across from him at the dining room table, and Thea hears a soft thump followed by the sound of her brother cursing in pain.

“Oldest goes first. That’s how we always played it,” Oliver argues.

“You just made up that rule so you could always go first,” Laurel responds, crossing her arms over her chest in a show of solidarity with Felicity.

“Sounds about right,” Thea scoffs, folding her arms as well.

“Oh, come on! Would I really do something like that?” Oliver asks. He looks around the table for someone to back him up, and his eyes land on Diggle: the only person who doesn’t look annoyed with him.

“Don’t look at me, man,” Digg says, holding his hands up in mock surrender. “I think the ladies have this one.”

“I...but….”

“It says it right here,” Felicity points out, pulling the official Rulebook out of the box at the end of the table. “ ‘Roll to see who goes first.’ We don’t play by House Rules here, Oliver. We play by the Real Rules.”

“ Says who?” Oliver whispers, just loud enough that Thea can hear him, and she cringes as Felicity shifts in her seat, clearly having heard him, too.

“What was that?” Felicity asks, leaning forward in her seat to glare daggers at him.

“Nothing, honey,” Oliver says quickly. He picks up the dice and hands them to her placatingly. “Roll to see who goes first.”

Thea polishes off the rest of her beer and moves to grab a second one from the fridge. As she pops the cap off the bottle, she hears Felicity tell her brother that by his “so-called ‘Rules’” John would’ve been the one to go first anyway.

Thea takes two long swigs of her beer and sighs deeply.

Something tells her it’s going to be a long night.

“I’m Not Going Anywhere,” olicity 6x17 coda

I’m Not Going Anywhere

*Contains mild spoilers for 6x18*

Rating: M

Summary: Coda to 6x17. In the aftermath of his fight with John, and with the threat of impeachment looming over him, Oliver finds solace in his wife's arms.Based on the following tweet by @lgbtsmoak on Twitter:

not to get soft over here but my favorite thing about the “i’m glue, baby” is that it definitely feels like a reference to a past conversation. something she’s said to him before that she’s calling back on to ground him.

Oliver listens to the news report until he can’t bear it anymore.

“I can’t listen to this,” Oliver mumbles, turning the TV off and dropping the remote back on the coffee table. “I can’t….”

He trails off, turning away from the set, as though putting it behind him can somehow distance him from the harsh reality of his existence.

He’s lost so much. He’s lost nearly his entire team - including his best friend and brother - and now he’s about to lose his city. Oliver runs his hands through his hair, pressing his palms tight to the top of his head. He rubs them down the back of his neck as he bows his head, moaning softly.

Then he feels a pair of small, strong hands grip his shoulders.

“Hey,” her soft voice whispers to him, and the ground suddenly stops shifting under Oliver’s feet.

He turns to her, and Felicity puts her hands back on his shoulders. Then she stands on the tips of her toes and gently presses her lips to his. Oliver sighs against her mouth, feeling some of the tension drain out of him, and he smiles ever so slightly into the kiss.

When he pulls away, Felicity wraps her arms around his back, pulling him in for a hug. Oliver wraps his arms around her in kind, settling his hands around her hips. His fingertips brush against her bare skin and he strokes her sides gently. Felicity sighs, leaning in closer and resting her head against his chest, right over his heart.

Oliver sighs in return, resting his cheek against the top of her head. Slowly, ever so slowly, Oliver trails his fingers up her sides, pushing his hands under her top.

Felicity nods her head, a silent acquiescence, and Oliver pushes his hands slowly up her back.

When the tips of his fingers brush against the strap of her bra, she moans quietly against him.

“I’m here, Oliver,” she whispers, her breath warm against his rapidly heating chest. “I’m here.”

Suddenly, Oliver finds himself desperate for her touch. Desperate to feel her body warm and soft and alive under him; so desperate he feels like his heart might shatter if he doesn’t touch her right now .

He needs her - he always has; now more than ever.

“I Wrote Your Name in My Heart,” (16&17/17), olicity s5 AU fic

Rating: M

Warnings: graphic descriptions (violence & physical/psychological torture), discussions of rape but no actual rape), attempted suicide

Summary: One cold night in December, a group of men kidnap Oliver right in front of Felicity. They leave behind no ransom or demands, no hints to his fate, and no clues to follow. As the new year starts, the team begins to lose hope that they will ever be able to save the Green Arrow; all except Felicity, because Felicity just got Oliver back, and she’ll be damned if she’s going to lose him again. Her hope pays off in the end…but when they finally find Oliver, they find a broken man they barely recognize. Felicity vows to do whatever it takes to make the man she loves whole again. Started off as a future fic but is now technically alternate canon/AU (takes places starting in early December 2016).

AN: My first long multi-chapter story in the Arrow-verse. 17 chapters total, NOW COMPLETE!  Expect a ton of angst, supportive Olicity, some flashbacks, and a bit of hope.

AN: I posted the final two chapters at once, as promised. Enjoy! :)

I Wrote Your Name in My Heart <– Chapter Fifteen: Coming Home to You –>

In the end, Felicity and John agree that they should hear what the man has to say - but not without precaution.

They send Wild Dog upstairs to get him. After checking the man for weapons, Rene leads Ivan down to the bunker, his gun pressed to his back the entire time.

Ivan goes quietly and without protest.

When they arrive downstairs, John greets them from under the hood of the Green Arrow suit while Felicity and the rest of the team wait off in the training area, watching from Felicity’s tablet. Rene takes a few steps back from the stranger, but he doesn't lower his gun.

“Ivan Wilcox, do you know who I am?” John asks, his voice disguised by the modulator in Oliver’s suit.

“I know you’re not the Green Arrow,” Ivan answers. “Oliver Queen is the Green Arrow, and you’re merely standing in for him. Other than that, no. I don’t know who you are.”

John considers him silently for a moment, then decides to keep pressing.

“I understand you have information for me,” John says, choosing neither to confirm nor deny Ivan’s words, while realizing that his silence on the matter is probably confirmation enough.

“Yes, sir,” Ivan responds. “It concerns a man who calls himself ‘Prometheus.’ He’s the one who tortured your friend Oliver Queen, and countless others. I have information that can help you stop him.”

“Why should I trust you?” John asks him.

“You have no reason to,” Ivan admits. “Not yet, at least. But if you’ll listen to what I have to say I think you’ll find that we both want the same thing.”

“To stop Prometheus,” John growls, and Ivan nods.

“Yes.”

John watches the man carefully, like he’s waiting for something.

Then he nods.

“I’ll hear you out, Ivan. But I have one condition.”

Five minutes later, Felicity sits behind her computers once more. Rene, Evelyn, Rory, and Curtis all stand behind her.

Downstairs, John closes the door to the prison cell.

“I appreciate your compliance, Ivan,” John says, stepping away from the cell and crossing his arms over his chest.

“I understand your hesitance,” the man assures him. “If I were in your shoes I’d do the same.”

John nods. “Start talking, Mr. Wilcox. The rest of my team is listening. After we’ve heard what you have to say, we’ll decide where to go next.”

“Yes, sir,” Ivan agrees. Then he looks down at his tablet, still clutched tightly in his hands. He takes a long, deep breath, and when he looks back up at John, his calm demeanor finally breaks. “The first thing you need to know is that Prometheus isn’t just a man. He’s a monster.”

And so, with trembling voice and fear in his eyes, Ivan Wilcox tells them everything he knows about the monster called Prometheus.

I Wrote Your Name in My Heart <– Chapter Fourteen: Coming Home to Myself –>

Slowly but surely, Oliver begins to come back to himself.

Slowly but surely, Oliver begins to heal.

To Felicity, it feels like he’s healing all over again - like they’re reliving all those months before he tried to take his own life - but with one major difference.

This time, Oliver’s talking.

He talks to her, and to John, and to Thea and Donna and Quentin.

He doesn’t talk a lot at first. Just simple words like “please” and “thank you” and “yes” or “no,” but after a few days he starts saying more and more, including small sentences.

“Oliver, do you want me to read to you before we go to sleep?”

“I’d like that.”

“Oliver, what do you want from the cafe on the corner?”

“Hot chocolate.”

“Do you want to come with me?”

“I...I don’t know. Maybe….”

“Tomorrow?”

“...yes. Maybe tomorrow.”

Oliver continues to sign as he grows used to speaking again, and as the days turn to weeks, he speaks more and more.

Oliver also begins to spend time with his loved ones again, and he goes back to doing all the things he used to enjoy doing with them.

He watches soaps with Donna.

He watches movies with his sister, and they even start to play card games together (something they haven’t done since Thea was a kid).

He begins to work out with John again, starting off with simple exercises: walks up and down the stairs, situps and pushups, even a bit of yoga (Felicity has never seen either of them do it before but it really seems to help Oliver relax, especially on the bad days). The exercising helps him a lot. The endorphins released improve his mood greatly, and combined with a steady diet and his continued use of medication, Oliver grows healthier and stronger every day.

Oliver still likes it when Felicity reads to him every night, and she continues to do so.

Oliver also continues to see his therapist. He only uses sign language with her to start, but as he begins to talk more and more with Felicity and the rest of his family, he also begins to talk more with Dr. Martinez. In time, the therapy begins to help him more than Felicity ever dared to hope it could.

Oliver even takes up his drawing again. Now it seems to help him the way it did in the beginning - and maybe even more - because sometimes he’s actually willing to talk to her about what he’s drawn. He draws both Good and Bad things, but the Bad drawings don’t seem to make him break down like they used to. Eventually, the Good drawings outweigh the Bad once more, and they move on to covering a third wall of the loft.

In time, Oliver also begins to go outside again. He starts off small, taking occasional, short trips with the people he loves. A trip to the cafe on the corner for hot chocolate with his sister. A walk in the park with Felicity and Mrs. Huff’s dog, or a jog in the park with John. He even goes grocery shopping with Donna to find ingredients for new cookie recipes, which he helps her bake (he still won’t cook on his own, but every once in awhile he likes to help John make dinner).

It’s a long, hard journey, but Felicity is patient with Oliver every step of the way.

Chapter Notes: Today's my birthday, so here’s a present! It’s short, but I should have the next one up pretty soon. Also, please note I bumped the chapter total up from 16 to 17. The penultimate chapter started getting WAY longer than I expected it to.

No real warnings for this chapter, but I would suggest having extra tissues on hand because I think you’re going to need them.

I Wrote Your Name in My Heart <– Chapter Thirteen: Tears –>

Felicity flies out of bed and runs toward the shattered door, somehow managing to avoid the shards of glass on the floor.

“Oliver!” she shouts into the night, and she looks down over the balcony, heart in her throat.

Relief washes through her when she spots him moving down one of the nearby fire escapes. She has no idea how he managed to climb over there, though. Oliver’s been known to scale buildings on numerous occasions, of course, but she had no idea he had that kind of strength in him nowadays. She assumes it’s the fear and adrenaline - the same fear and adrenaline that has her heart racing as she watches his feet hit the pavement.

She screams his name again, though of course he can’t hear her. She pays close attention to which way he runs, and as he turns the corner and vanishes from her sight Felicity flies back inside her apartment with a moan.

“No, no, no, no, no, NO!” she shouts, her voice still raw from Oliver’s chokehold. She moves quickly over to the nightstand to grab her phone. “This isn’t happening,” she mutters, her fingers tapping quickly at the screen as she pulls up John’s number.

As the phone rings, Felicity paces nervously across the floor, mumbling the word “no” to herself over and over.

She can’t believe this is happening.

She can’t believe he ran away.

She can’t believe-

She hears a voice on the other end of the line at the same time that she spots two pools of dark red blood amidst the broken glass by the balcony.

“Felicity? What’s wrong?” she hears someone ask, but her blood is pounding hard in her ears. She lifts her left foot, then her right, and there’s no cuts and no blood there.

Which means it’s Oliver’s.

“Felicity!” she hears a shout, and she shakes her head as John Diggle’s voice breaks through the haze in her brain. “Talk to me,” he tells her firmly.

She whimpers quietly, and when the next two words leave her mouth it feels like the world is falling out from underneath her.

“Oliver’s gone.”

I wish you would write a fic where...we have a sick (like feverish/flu) felicity who's in denial about being sick and at the end of the mission falls asleep at her desk when everyone is on their way back. Oliver of course takes her home and takes care of her! But on the way Felicity just shoots him a look, "Don't say it." "I told you, you were sick." If this is oddly specific I'm sorry! I just love fluffy olicity and sick!fics are a weakness of mine!

I Told You (Olicity, Season 6B)

A silly ficlet set in 6B-ish. (I’m sorry it took me so long to write something for this - I hope you like it!)

*

“Alright, we’re heading home.”

No reply.

Oliver frowned and stopped in his tracks,forcing Diggle to come to a halt behind him. He tapped the button in his chesttwice, hearing the telltale click that told him his comm was in fact on andconnected.

“Overwatch?”

“Hmm?” came out a quick second later, soundingevery bit as exhausted as she had the entire night. A soft smile pulled at thecorner of his lips as the rustling of her dress sounded, like she’d jerked upquickly, catching herself. “Yeah. Okay. Good. Is the package secure?”

Diggle chuckled as Oliver said, “Yeah, aboutten minutes ago.”

He had to bite his tongue to keep from addinga loving, ‘Honey,’ at the end, andnot just because they were in the middle of an op or because he knew exactlyhow fuzzy her brain was.

It was because she was sick and she was doingeverything in her power to deny it.

“Right. Of course.” Felicity’s voice betrayedher exhaustion and he could practically hear how hard she nodded because asecond later she hissed in pain. Probably from the headache she’d just jostledthe hell out of. “Good. Okay. Good.”

“We’re heading home.”

“Okay.”

There was a click from her end.

“How far is she going to push this?” Diggleasked as they made their way to the van. “I haven’t seen her this sick in along time.”

“A Late Christmas Present”

A Late Christmas Present

Pairing: Olicity

Rating: M (for non-explicit sex)

Summary: When Oliver and Felicity’s friends send their wedding gift back to them, the two of them feel quite differently about it. Oliver tamps down his frustrations in an effort to make Felicity feel better, and together, the two of them turn an unpleasant situation on its head.

AN: Originally inspired by a series of tweets. The ArrowWritersRoom posted a dialogue tease for 6x10 (“Looks like we’re getting a late Christmas present”) to which someone jokingly guessed “Oliver to Felicity when they open up the returned espresso machine.” I changed the line up a bit and give it to Felicity, but it’s close enough. ;)

This is equal parts cute, fluffy, obnoxiously sappy, kind of funny, a teensy bit smutty, and a little bit bitter. I didn’t think it would be bitter at all, but then stuff happened yesterday and I worked in a bit of bitter I hadn’t planned on. But the bitterness is really an afterthought, because Oliver always knows how to make Felicity feel better, and that’s what this is about.

Enjoy!

A Late Christmas Present

It’s around 2pm on the first Friday of the new year, and Oliver’s helping Felicity move the last of her things into his apartment (he actually managed to get out of the office early so he could help her). The two of them have just started making space in the entertainment center for Felicity’s movie collection when the doorbell rings.

“Are we expecting someone?” Felicity asks, and Oliver frowns.

“Not that I know of.”

He moves to answer the door, glancing out of the peephole to find a delivery man holding a large box.

“What is it, hon?” Felicity asks, stepping up beside him.

“A package,” Oliver says, beckoning her back from the door. “Are you expecting anything?”

“No,” Felicity answers as she steps behind him.

Oliver opens the door cautiously.

“Yes?” he asks the man standing on the other side.

“Afternoon, Mr. Queen. I have a package for you and a Mrs. Smoak.”

“I didn’t order anything, and neither did my wife.”

“It’s from a Mr. and Mrs. Bartholomew Allen in Central City.”

I Wrote Your Name in My Heart <– Chapter Twelve: For Better or Worse –>

While Thea agrees that Oliver is better off staying with Felicity, the two of them still fear that Oliver may try to hurt himself again. Felicity briefly debates finding somewhere else to stay - someplace much smaller, where she can keep a better eye on Oliver - but she decides against it in the end, because she’s afraid that moving him to an unfamiliar place will only make things worse.

And so, a few days into Oliver’s recuperation at the hospital, Felicity returns to the loft and - with help from John - she sets the place in order.

They start by cleaning up the mess in the bathroom, which takes more time than it probably should because Felicity can barely stand to spend more than a few minutes in the room at a time. After sweeping out all the bits of glass and removing every last piece of the broken mirror, John tries to clean the floor, but it’s been too long and the stains from Oliver’s blood have set in. After five minutes of hard scrubbing, John sits back against the wall. He’s breathing heavily, his whole body shaking, and Felicity pulls him from the room without a second thought and decides to have the tile ripped up and a carpet installed in its place, rental lease be damned.

After that, she and John take more than a few precautions around the rest of the loft. First they take all the locks off the doors - save for the lock to the front door - and add a more secure lock to the door leading out to the balcony. Next, Felicity takes every dangerous household cleaning product and locks it under the kitchen sink while John puts all the knives into one drawer, which he also locks. Then they both remove all the mirrors in the loft save for a small pocket mirror, which Felicity puts in the locked medicine cabinet with Oliver’s pills.

Deciding to err on the side of extreme caution, Felicity also gets rid of the TV, offering it to John for the time being. She keeps her tablet, laptop, and phone because they’re all necessary (and less hackable), but she decides to keep them either locked up in a filing cabinet or on her person at all times.

Later that afternoon, Felicity helps Lance beef up the security at the building across the street where Oliver’s protection force is stationed, in the hopes that if Prometheus tries anything else, they won’t be caught unawares again.

Sitting around the dining room table that night eating Big Belly Burger with John, Felicity gazes around the loft. She’s done anything and everything she can think of to prevent Oliver from hurting himself again. She has no idea if Oliver will relapse without a trigger from Prometheus, but she doesn’t want to take any chances.

She can’t go through this again.

Baby Clothes - An Olicity Dialogue

“Oliver, please?” “No.” “Please?” “Felicity, I said no.” “But, why?” “Because.” “I’ll give you extra dessert tonight.” “…” “Oliver, she’d look so cute in it!” “She looks cute in everything she wears!” “Exactly, so-“ “Just not this one. Please?” “Oliver.” “Felicity, it says ‘future heartbreaker’ in glittery pink letters.” “They have other colors…” “Why can’t we just get a onesie without anything on it? Like a cobalt blue? A soft pink?” “I’m not gonna mention you knowing about a ‘cobalt’ blue… well I guess I just did. Anyways, why are you going all Mr. overprotective-grouchy-grouch Queen on me right now?” “Our daughter is 3 months old, Felicity. I don’t want to think about her dating anyone anytime soon. She’s my little girl and I want it to stay that way for as long as possible.” “You’re adorable.” “We’re still not getting it.” “Fine, but only because I love you.” “I love you too, Mrs. Queen.” “That’s Mrs. overprotective-grouchy-grouch Queen to you, mister.”

Oliver would 110% be the worst “overprotective-grouchy-grouch” parent! Lol. From refusing to buy this outfit for his daughter to casually sharpening his arrows in the kitchen when she has her first date! Cute fic @verdantvendetta, loved it:)

“An Unexpected Family,” an Olicity&William Christmas fic

An Unexpected Family

Rating: PG

Warnings: none

Pairings: Olicity, very brief mentions of John/Lyla and Thea/Roy

Summary: William spends his first Christmas with his new family.

AN: For the purposes of this story, assume that William is 12 years old this Christmas. There’s too much contradicting canon on this topic, but I’ve always thought that, based on the choice of actor, 12 makes more sense than 10.

This is my Olicity Secret Santa 2017 gift for @bokayjunkie . Because I spent Thanksgiving weekend watching Christmas movies, I got to wondering how William might spend the holidays with his new family. This started off with the simple idea of “five times William helped make Christmas dinner for his family” and quickly grew into an entire Thing. It took on a life of its own and went in directions I wasn’t intending, but in the best ways possible - at least I think so.

Friendly warning: you’ll probably want to have tissues on hand.

Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, and enjoy!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
An Unexpected Family
December 24th, 2017
The first year William helps his father make Christmas dinner, he burns the sweet potatoes.
“I’m sorry,” William mumbles as Oliver pulls the pan of charcoal black potatoes out of the oven.
“It’s okay, buddy,” Oliver assures him, smiling softly at his son as he sets the inedible dish on top of the stove. “There’s a lot that goes into cooking. You just need some practice. And besides, you did a great job on the mashed potatoes.”
“Yes, you did,” a voice responds from behind them, and William turns around just in time to see Felicity stick a spoon into the bowl of mashed potatoes and shove it into her mouth. “Mmmm, heavenly,” she sighs, and William laughs as Oliver takes the spoon out of her hands with a smirk.
“What did I tell you about sampling the food before dinner?” he asks, leaning in over her, but there’s a playful smile on his face, and William knows his father is just teasing her.
“ ‘Don’t,’ ” Felicity answers, and she reaches out to try and grab the spoon from him, but Oliver pulls it away from her and holds it out to William. William takes it and deposits it in the sink, out of Felicity’s reach.
“Oh, boo, you guys are no fun,” she pouts, and Oliver just smiles at her and bends down for a kiss. William turns away - not from embarrassment, but to give them some privacy, because he’s grown used to their displays of affection by now.
He doesn’t know either Oliver or Felicity very well yet, but he’s learning more and more about his father and his new step-mother everyday, and if there’s one thing he does know it’s that they love each other very much.
He gives them what he considers to be enough time for a kiss - which, unbeknownst to him, is not even close to enough time - before he asks, “What’s next?”
“I Wrote Your Name in My Heart,” (12/?), olicity s5 AU fic
Rating: M
Warnings: graphic descriptions (violence & physical/psychological torture), discussions of rape but no actual rape), attempted suicide
Summary: One cold night in December, a group of men kidnap Oliver right in front of Felicity. They leave behind no ransom or demands, no hints to his fate, and no clues to follow. As the new year starts, the team begins to lose hope that they will ever be able to save the Green Arrow; all except Felicity, because Felicity just got Oliver back, and she’ll be damned if she’s going to lose him again. Her hope pays off in the end…but when they finally find Oliver, they find a broken man they barely recognize. Felicity vows to do whatever it takes to make the man she loves whole again. Started off as a future fic but is now technically alternate canon/AU (takes places starting in early December 2016).
AN: My first long multi-chapter story in the Arrow-verse. Not sure how many chapters it’ll be. Expect a ton of angst, supportive Olicity, some flashbacks, and a bit of hope.
If anyone wants to be tagged/untagged please let me know. :)
Chapter Warnings: This chapter deals with the aftermath of attempted suicide.
I'm sorry it's taken me so long to post this. Real life hasn't gone very easy on me lately. But this chapter's pretty long (at least by my standards) so there's that.
Thank you as always to everyone still reading, leaving comments, and being super patient with me. My readers are the best. <3
I Wrote Your Name in My Heart <– Chapter Eleven: Family –>
Oliver stays conscious nearly all the way to the hospital. Felicity can still hear him muttering that awful word to himself as he bleeds out in her arms.
“Monster. Monster. Monster.”
Felicity squeezes the towels tighter around his wrists, gripping them firmly, as though the simple act of holding on to him will keep him with her. Her right shoulder still hurts from when she slammed it into the door, but she ignores it, focusing all of her attention on soothing Oliver.
“We’re almost there,” John says from behind the wheel, and Donna turns around in the passenger seat to look back at them. Her mother is crying quietly, and Felicity wants nothing more than to cry with her; to let out all the pain and the anger and the despair she feels holding the man she loves while he dies.
“Of Beanbags and Abdominal Muscles,” post-6x03 olicity fic
Of Beanbags and Abdominal Muscles
Pairing: Olicity
Rating: E (explicit content & language)
Summary: Sex. Abs. Exploding beanbag chairs. A coda to 6x03.
AN: For the purposes of this story, assume that this isn’t the first time Oliver and Felicity have had sex since coming back from Lian Yu (only because I can’t picture their first time back together being anything like this, lol).
I blame/thank @muslimsmoak for the Twitter poll that first put the idea of beanbag chair sex into my head, and credit goes to @callistawolf and @dust2dust34 for the idea of an EXPLODING beanbag chair.
The abdominal muscles were something I've wanted to write about for a long time.
This story is 75% explicit smut, 25% sweet fluff, and 100% ridiculous.
I regret nothing.
Enjoy!
Of Beanbags and Abdominal Muscles
Felicity manages to get Oliver’s jacket halfway down his arms before he crashes into the computer table. He grunts, accidentally biting her lip in the process, and Felicity moans softly. She pulls away from him, taking her lower lip into her mouth and sucking on it. Her eyes are dark with desire, cheeks flushed a brilliant pink, and Oliver groans as he shrugs out of his jacket.
“Oliver-”
He doesn’t let her finish. Instead he grabs her face between his hands and crashes his lips against hers with the same fervor she just used to push him across the room.
You gotta write a fic or Drabble about olicity and the 40% kissing 60% giggling thing please
*Contains Recent Potential Spoilers for 6x09!*
(I saw the pictures from set and then I saw there were green cupcakes on set and this is obviously what will happen. Because I demand it.)
There was no choice to make.
The hall was quiet save for a few whispers, the clinking of glasses and silverware, some soft emotional sighs - alright, those were mostly from her mother - and the shuffling of feet.
For the most part it was just bated breath as everyone watched them.
Her face was straight, not wanting to give away what she was going to do, even as she raised the cupcake with the bright green frosting on it to his mouth. The smile on his face was so quiet and serene, so beautiful and unsuspecting. The ceremony had been perfect and now it was time to cap it off with…
A twinkle in Oliver’s eye caught her off guard, but before she could process it his lips twitched ever so slightly, like he was fighting a smile.
Oh no.
Felicity narrowed her eyes, opening her mouth to tell him, “Noooo…” but it was too late.
He shoved the dark green cupcake in her face.
Felicity gasped - he got her first - and with a face-splitting grin, she did the same exact thing to him.
Oliver laughed, a gorgeously boisterous sound that echoed through the room as he tried to dodge back, but Felicity followed him, making sure she smeared icing all over her stupidly handsome husband’s mouth and cheeks. The move had the cupcake he held going up and over her nose, which made him really laugh. It was contagious and amazing, and her laughter quickly joined his, especially when she nearly got her cupcake in his open mouth, but he caught her wrist at the last second before she could.
As laughter and applause erupted around them, Felicity looped her other arm around his neck and pulled his lips down to hers.
The kiss was a complete mess, all grins and green icing, especially when he tugged her into his chest and tried to smear his icing-covered face all over hers. It elicited a little shriek from her before she gave it as good as she got, reducing both of them to giggles and open-mouthed kisses.
But the real giggles didn’t start until Felicity pulled back and looked up at him.
He had green icing all over his face - on his nose, his cheeks, around his eyes and in his eyebrows.
It was freakishly reminiscent of his Hood days, so much so that Felicity snorted.
Biting her lip to keep from losing it, she dragged a green-tinged finger down the side of his face with a quiet, “So much for those Green Arrow rumors not being true, huh?”
Oliver grinned. “That bad?”
Felicity hummed, shaking her head as she drank him in. “No,” she replied, leaning forward to lick the tip of his nose. He chuckled, and he didn’t stop as she dropped more open kisses all over his face, tasting as much as kissing. “Definitely that good.”
Completely oblivious to the room around them, Oliver whispered, “C’mere,” just before his mouth found hers again… only to be thwarted when his lips slipped right over hers and landed on her cheek.
Felicity laughed and they tried to kiss again, but icing was everywhere and it was only getting worse…
No, it was only getting better as they stood there in their own little world, their perfect little world that was all theirs, that they’d fought so hard for, that they’d won, and tried to kiss each other through endless giggles and green icing.
(That’s the photo Oliver will always carry in his wallet and the one that Felicity keeps with her as she builds her brand new company.)
“I Just Need to Hear Your Voice,” 6x01 olicity coda
I Just Need to Hear Your Voice
Pairing: Olicity
Rating: PG13
Summary: Coda to 6x01 (takes place at some point in the near future). In an attempt to slowly rebuild their relationship without complicating William’s life, Oliver and Felicity get in the habit of calling each other every night. Sometimes they watch TV together. Sometimes they discuss Team Arrow business. Most nights they just talk about their days. But then sometimes the nightmares come…and all they really want is to hear the other’s voice. This is one of those nights.
AN: This fic was inspired by my wish for how the premiere would end - which was a bit different from this and obviously didn’t come true - and a few discussions on Twitter about how Oliver and Felicity spend their nightly phone calls.
I Just Need to Hear Your Voice
Oliver’s breath comes out in short gasps, and his feet pound hard against the earth as he runs.
John and Felicity.
They should have been with the others. They should have been safe: shielded from the blasts and the heat by the hard, strong metal of the plane’s body.
Instead they were left behind.
Quentin swore they’d been right behind him, but when he’d reached the plane, they were nowhere to be found.
Oliver runs faster, fearing the worst. His heart pounds in his chest to the beat of his prayers.
Please let them be okay, please let them be okay.
His muscles burn from exertion, but he doesn’t stop.
How much farther is it? He thought they’d been right by the plane when Felicity last talked to him.
He pushes himself faster.
Oliver runs….
And runs….
He keeps running….
Until he finally sees them….
…and he stops dead in his tracks.
John looks up at him from where he sits on the ground, cradling Felicity’s still form in his lap.
