My First Doll Show!
Samantha brought Clara along! It was so fun! I got some AG clothes, a mini Josefina, and a customized Monster High doll.
Evette at a vintage clothes fair!
She had a great time, but nothing can beat the clothes she finds in Gran E’s closet! They had arcade games too, so we played some pac-man.
I got Maritza for Christmas! I took her on a trip I went on and she met Hatsune Miku 🫢
i got claudie! she’s so adorable and i can’t wait for the rest of her books to come out. I took some pictures of her on a little autumn trip i went on! we got to see some very pretty waterfalls
Happy Halloween!
Ivy’s all dressed up as Kiki from Kiki’s Delivery Service! Her dress was custom made by kgabor19 on Etsy. I think she looks adorable!
if they were in the same universe, draculaura canonically could have met and been friends with every single historical american girl doll because she’s 1600 years old
Nanea Rainy Day Hula Stop Motion!
one of my favorite american girl live songs! i tried replicating some of the dance moves from the video but it turns out hula is hard to animate with dolls that don’t have elbow or wrist articulation
do all the Marisols know how lucky they are for getting an american girl doll, monster high doll, AND healthy roots doll with their name? truly god’s favorites
this spring jess and i went to see some cherry blossoms! we had a picnic with some friends and it was a great time 🌸
🤞hoping they’ll continue from courtney and give claudie a mini 1920s doll!
Cécile is reciting poetry for Marie-Grace from Les Cenelles, the first poetry anthology by Americans of color! I made her the mini book and actually printed poems from the original on the pages in French!
Happy Pride Month! 🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️
Ivy joined me at my first pride parade this year! It was very fun. She was quite popular, three separate people came up to say they recognized her.
Happy AAPI Heritage Month!
Nanea, Ivy, Jess, and Kanani (and Mele and Barksee) wish everyone a happy AAPI Heritage Month! I recently got this gorgeous kimono for Jess from KyoPlayroom on Etsy!
American Girl & Japanese Friendship Dolls
I’ve been researching the Japanese Friendship doll exchange of 1927 recently and find it really interesting. I found it cool that American Girl actually has a small history with the project! Along with publishing an article about it in American Girl magazine in 1997, AG dolls have actually been used as modern friendship doll ambassadors! The originator of the project in the 1920s was Sydney Gulick. In the ‘90s and 2000s, his grandson seems to have continued his mission by giving new American dolls to schools and organizations in Japan. As you can see from this list of new friendship dolls, many of them look to be Pleasant Company dolls! You can learn more about them by clicking their pictures and reading their pages.
