What if I cried for one billion years
Context: This is a book called something of the equivalent of “Lloyd’s Journal”, where he basically recounts the entire events from his perspective up to the finale of s2p1. It’s basically an entire diary dedicated to be read by Master Wu one day so that Lloyd can show him what’s been happening more easily (yeah this makes me wanna bawl too).
Okay and now to translate this for my non-German speakers:
“Kai. I can’t believe he’s gone. He must have helped Bonzle in closing the portal. All while knowing he would be trapped. And there’s not going to be another blood moon for the next thousand years.
I’m not ready to accept the loss of Kai. There has to be a way to free him. That Nokt is causing chaos/mayham/mischief in the meantime.
It would be easy to lose hope. But there’s a lot to do. I need to train Sora, Arin and Wyldfyre. We need to get Kai back.”
The page continued after this but these three paragraphs were mostly what got me the worst. Especially the second and third. This kid missed his older brother so much and was probably so ready to not continue and quitting being a ninja AGAIN just like when they lost Nya to the sea, but the only thing that kept him keeping to it was the slightest of possibilities of getting Kai back, and now being responsible for these three students. He can’t just give up. It’s not what Wu would have done— it’s not what Kai would have done. At least not nowadays.

The amount of misoginy in Ninjago especially in the earlier seasons isn't talked about enough because "oh it's a lego show for kids" YEAH BUT YOU COULDVE ATLEAST TREATED NYA AS HER OWN PERSON AND NOT JUST SOMEONES LOVE INTEREST??
I remember Nya saying in Skybound "yeah i'm a girl but I'm also alot of other things" and "you both seem so determined to have a future with me, but what choice do I have in all of this?" (Or something like that) AND THOSE LINES ARE FOREVER ENGRAVED IN MY SKULL
I can't stand it when I see people hate Nya because "she's just a girl" "she's weak" "she ruins the show" "she's the girl ninja" as if the whole point of Skybound was not to prove that she is worthy of fighting by the other ninjas side, wether she was a woman or not. Gender does not determine anything. She has worked SO hard to prove that she is more than just a girl. Nya is Nya. Not "the girl" not "Kai's sister" not "Jay's girlfriend". NYA.
Why is Lloyd the literal definition of those overpowered hybrid princess main characters in gacha life mini movies with a concerning amount of trauma
Lloyd is basically the legendary prophesied green ninja destined to battle the literal embodiment of evil when he was a mere child AND with a broken foot (spoiler alert: he won)
Not only that he was also homeless AND parentless for a portion of his life when he was a bratty child longing for the comfort of his own nonexistent family. Then he found out that he was the grandson of a god and was a part-dragon, part-oni, half human hybrid which is CRAZY work.
Bro could literally transform into a gold four-armed monster if provoked (but unfortunately the writers most likely forgot about that trait) AND WE HAVE YET TO SEE WHAT HIS DRAGON FORM MAY LOOK LIKE!!!
TL;DR : "The hated and homeless child turns out to be a legendary green hero with a fuck ton of trauma and little to no parental guidance throughout his life"
