Took some pictures of the prison courtyard because it's nice to finally be able to see it

I do wish we had been able to see that lore video Sam and Dream recorded about this room back when the prison was being built

Baby c!Dream has made a friend! This is great!

  • He has unlocked: less loneliness! New social skill tree! Ally for dangerous missions! Interesting new snacks!
  • All of these are very exciting new things, and Dream and Sapnap quickly form a routine, they'll often meet up in the mornings, then they'll run off to find some place to go exploring.
  • The biggest problem is that unlikely Dream, Sapnap has a much more restrictive guardian. Said guardian was already quite upset that Sapnap ran off to a cave without telling him and wasn't too happy with him running off with an unnamed strange.
  • This meant that Sapnap had to go home every single night, unlike Dream who could stay out as long as he wanted. He did try to get back to the treehouse to meet XD once a week, but it wasn't really an issue if he couldn't. XD would always find him.
  • XD never got mad at him for wandering either, he was actually quite proud of little Dream for branching out and working on exploring.
  • Now, he wasn't happy the first time he found out Dream got hurt (it'd only been a handful of scraps from a recent fall, but the god had found himself unused to how humans bleed. He'd forgotten how fragile they are), but XD calmed himself down and just provided a number of handy potions and medical supplies so Dream could keep himself patched up.
  • So Dream and Sapnap would have to make sure that Sapnap was home on time, and particularly down in the caves, neither of them was great at keeping track of time.
  • This lead to Sapnap getting in trouble and not being allowed out for several days. And more importantly, the more it happened, the more Sapnap reported that his guardian wasn't happy to let him wander off with some stranger.
  • Sapnap had offered several times to bring Dream to meet his guardian, but Dream found himself wary. Sapnap was one thing, he was another child. Dream was even taller than him! So if anything went wrong, clearly Dream could handle it.
  • From what Sapnap said, Dream was not taller than Sapnap's guardian. He wasn't sure if he could take the man in a fight. So if something went wrong...
  • XD has also told him to be very careful about talking to other humans. He hadn't said that Dream COULDN'T, but he had said to be careful. What if Bad knew about magic? What if he asked a lot of questions? What if he was loud and got angry?
  • There were too many unknowns. Far too many for comfort.
  • So Dream made up excuses and put off meeting Sapnap's guardian for as long as he could.
  • In the end, he didn't really have a say in it.
  • See, one of the many things that Dream had learned was that Sapnap was a blaze hybrid. Apparently, it was a creature from the nether, which wasn't where they were now.
  • Blaze hybrids like Sapnap didn't like water very much. Sapnap could take baths and get wet, but he really didn't like it unless the water was warm. Cold water was bad. It could kill him.
  • Dream had learned that well over a month ago, but he hadn't paid it much mind until now. Until the ground had given out from underneath the two of them
  • For a moment, Dream was terrified of the fall. It was only for a moment though, because it turned out it wasn't that far, he just barely had time to grab a breath before his body hit the water.
  • It was Cold. Bone piercingly cold. Colder than any underground river Dream had been in before.
  • It was also a river, the current wasn't too strong, but Dream still had to fight to surface once he managed to get his brain back online. The cold sucked, but he managed to shove it to the back of his mind. Dream was good with cold. He could handle this.
  • Swimming was a bit harder, XD had taught him the basics, but he wasn't as good as Sap-
  • Oh no.
  • Dream frantically searched the surface he could see, trying to find his friend.
  • It was hard in the dark. Ever since the mask he couldn't see as well in the low light. Despite this, he managed to make out what looked like a shape drifting down river.
  • It wasn't moving.
  • Shoot.
  • Without thinking, Dream angled himself and paddled until he managed to reach the shape, kicking his feet to stay afloat as he desperately tried to maneuver the body of his friend upright.
  • The cold was numbing his hands, but he managed to get Sapnap flipped over so the other's head was up. Dream couldn't tell if he was breathing. He didn't know how to.
  • What he did know was he needed to get Sapnap out of this river now.
  • The two of them were drifting down stream, Dream wasn't sure where exactly it lead, but he could see a faint light a ways down and it was the closet thing he had to a direction.
  • Holding onto Sapnap, he kicked his feet and swam with the current until he was able to see where the light was coming from.
  • It was an opening above the river, there was a bit of a bank. Not much of one, but enough that Dream was pretty sure he could scrabble up it.
  • Getting up it with Sapnap would be harder, but Dream needed to. There wasn't another option.
  • As they came up on the bank, Dream gathered his strength and used one hand to pull himself out of the river and onto the shore.
  • He was almost pulled right back in as he tried to hold onto Sapnap, but with a tremendous amount of effort he managed to hold on and pull Sapnap up out of the water.
  • There wasn't enough space to lay Sapnap out or check on him here. So Dream was forced to suppress his shivering, pull Sapnap onto his back and slowly start up the steep bank towards the opening. He used one hand to keep his friend stable and the other to half crawl, half climb up.
  • As he climbed, he was acutely aware of the fact he couldn't feel any breathing from the figure on his back.
  • Although in fairness he also couldn't feel his hands anymore and those were bleeding.
  • It took ages, but he managed to crest the edge of the cave and pull them both out into the crisp autumn air. As soon as he was out, he fell to the ground. Taking deep breaths in as shakes wracked his body.
  • He needed to get up. Sapnap needed him.
  • Summoning what will he had left, Dream opened his inventory and pulled out a few of the potions that XD had given him.
  • Regen was best for anything that wasn't a gash. XD had even given him strength just in case.
  • Dream got two of the regen potions, one regular and one topical. Sapnap very clearly couldn't drink the potion so it'd need to do.
  • Breaking the topical potion's bottle, Dream spread it over his friend's face and neck like he'd been taught. The magic pulsed and fizzled, and for a moment Dream was scared it wouldn't take-
  • But it did. It glowed a bright pink and then absorbed into his skin.
  • That meant he was still alive. Okay.
  • Once that was done, Dream quickly chugged the second regen potion and followed it up with the strength.
  • The regen stopped the blood and while it didn't erase the cold, it did ease the numbness. The strength tore into the exhaustion eating at him and gave him enough strength to push himself to his feet and pick Sapnap back up.
  • The regen might've saved Sapnap for now, but he wasn't waking up. He needed to get warm again.
  • They were close to the entrance of the cave, which wasn't too far from Sapnap's nest. Dream could get him there. He had to.
  • The journey was a slog, even with the potions boosting him, Sapnap was heavy and Dream was tired and cold.
  • But he did it!!
  • Dream managed to get to the edge of the clearing where he and Sapnap usually parted, and after a moment. he pushed towards where Sapnap usually went. Down a little trail, he saw a house.
  • Relief hit him instantly, and then he saw a figure in the window.
  • The figure- a man? A demon? (He looked like one from Dream's books, but Dream couldn't be sure), saw him and-
  • Oh. They were coming outside. They looked upset.
  • XD had given Dream an invisibility potion, and if his fingers weren't numb and tired, Dream would've probably tried to use it in order to escape. But he couldn't.
  • The demon was out the door and rushing over and talking and it was way too much. All Dream could do was brace himself and hope that he would at least make sure that Sapnap was okay before he got angry.

Drunz Bodyguard AU

The Bodyguard was the most picked option so here is the post about it:

  • Dream is a popular musician and while walking out late at night after a concert gets attacked and burned by a psychotic fan. This leaves him with multiple wounds all over his body, becoming blind in his right eye where he also has a huge burn on the right side of his face and neck
  • Sam, who is Dream's manager, decides to hire a bodyguard for Dream as the criminal is still at large. The bodyguard he hires is Punz, an experienced bodyguard who has worked for multiple successful people and is highly recommended in his field
  • Punz is told by Sam to protect Dream in the way of 'protect him so we can make more money' instead of 'protect him as he went through a traumatic event'; Sam is also trying to force Dream to go along with doing a comeback tour despite the fact that Dream isn't ready to perform
  • Punz originally thinks that Dream is a snobby rude person who thinks the world is at his feet like all the other people Punz worked for in the past. Dream snaps at Punz and everyone around him which reaffirms how Punz thinks about him
  • When Punz finds Dream backstage after a rehearsal and gets punched by Dream when he taps him on the shoulder. At first, Punz is angry and is thinking about quitting when he notices that Dream is crying
  • Turns out that a stagehand said something that triggered Dream and made him experience a flashback of the night of the attack and he lashed out because he thought Punz was his attacker.
  • Eventually, Punz realizes that Dream being mean to everyone is a self-defense mechanism when he is afraid and realizes that Dream needs to get more help than what he had received after the attack
  • As Punz helps Dream get better (ie. helping him sneak out to a festival Dream wanted to attend that Sam told him he couldn't go to, find another therapist as the first therapist didn't help Dream get to the root of his problems, reach out to Dream's old friends Sapnap and George who he drifted apart from while his career was taking off), the two slowly begin to develop feelings for one another
  • And nothing bad will ever happen
  • Jk, Punz gets shot and Dream gets kidnapped by his attacker

That's all I will reveal bye!

Okay, so XD now has a Small Child (tm), c!Dream is a little 4 year old who has just been take from his family and forced to wear a strange mask that fundamentally changes his body to a human form. He's not a fan of this, but he's taking it well. Probably.

  • Now, something that helps is that in Ender Dragon hybrid society, kids split off from their parents relatively young. Not at 4 years old normally, but it'd be shocking for a 10 year old to still be in their parent's nest. The average is about 7-8 for moving to a new nest, but some go as young as 6.
  • This is partially because Ender Dragons hybrids tend to be quite independent and want their own space, but also because much of Ender Dragon society is highly communal. A kid moves into their own nest (or sometimes a sibling/friend nest), but they aren't really on their own nor are they considered full adults. Most stay nearby their parents (or another set of trusted adults, grandparents, a mentor, cool older sibling, etc) and still get a lot of help from the adults around them.
  • Every adult is generally considered to be responsible for ensuring the well being of any older child based on their ability rather than genetic relation or adoption.
  • Some of this culture is historic, but some of it has also come around in "recent" years with Ender Dragon Hybrids being entirely isolated from other societies, cultures, and most outside threats aside from a very strange curse that claims the lives of marked children once each generation. The relative safety of this situation helps enable this sort of culture.
  • As a result, Dream wasn't necessarily super freaked out by a strange being abducting him. He generally trusts just about every adult he interacts with, and this adult is clearly of the End. The mask was quite shocking, but after XD explained that it was to help protect him, Dream understood. He was sad about leaving behind the people he knew, but also quite excited for this new adventure.
  • Also XD let him have ice cream, something he'd never had before and that tasted amazing. Clearly this man has secrets.
  • Great! The child has accepted whatever the fuck is going on here. XD was honestly excepting that to be harder than it was.
  • Uh.
  • Okay.
  • Now, admittedly, XD has been working on this plan for at least 300 years. It's the only chance he'll have at this. He had all the details nailed out, he'd picked the kills, found his excuses, figured out how to try to hide the child, all of it was planned for.
  • Except he kinda sorta forgot that he did need to actually raise the kid during this part.
  • In his defense, he no longer really remembers most of his human life. He forgot they like, need things.
  • Right.
  • Okay.
  • So XD realizes he needs to take of this now-human child. What do children need? What do humans need? Dream appeared to enjoy the ice cream. Do humans need ice cream?
  • He doesn't really want to ask for instructions from the child because that would make him look dumb, so instead XD just... tries to replicate some of what he remembers being around the village that Dream was taken from.
  • Building Dream a new nest is the first challenge, the child is delighted at the idea and has his own ideas for how it should look. But things have to change a bit, Dream no longer has his wings and a lot of his instincts have changed. He struggles to scrabble up cliff faces without his claws, and he keeps falling over because his balance has changed without his tail.
  • XD sees this and decides that rather than building a nest in a cliff, a treehouse will need to work instead. It lets Dream stay up higher without looking like an Ender Dragon's home. The trees are also much easier for the child to climb.
  • Getting a treehouse set up with basic supplies isn't that hard. XD ensures that there's food, sets up a potion brewing area with plenty of supplies, remembers that humans need beds and water for various things, and before too long there's a nice little setup.
  • Of course, there's plenty of arguing and little Dream isn't entirely happy with everything, but he does like that XD lets him use the potion stand. Before he was told he was too young. But look at him now! He can brew whatever he likes!
  • Obviously, XD also gives Dream some proper armor and weaponry. He even enchants it so it'll grow as Dream does!
  • And then, having handed this small child enchanted netherite murder equipment, XD leaves.
  • Not like! Without warning! He checked that Dream was doing alright and that he knew to stay safe and hidden from any gods, and then... went about his day.
  • XD is a god! He has things to do! Probably.
  • More importantly, it's not safe for him to spend too much time around Dream. Not only could it attract attention from the other gods, but it could also seriously harm Dream.
  • See, humans tend to be negatively impacted by too much exposure to gods. Their bodies aren't made to handle it.
  • Ender dragon hybrids were famously capable of spending lots of time around gods, and godlings are generally immune to these effects.
  • But Dream is no longer an ender dragon hybrid or a godling. The mask makes him almost entirely human. Which makes him vulnerable to the effects of being exposed to a god.
  • So XD leaves the child alone in a treehouse, assuming this will be fine and normal, and promises to come back to check in.
  • And he does!
  • A week later
  • Dream was getting worried about his strange guardian not coming back, but he'd been making do. He'd already found a small local river and started fishing so he could put food away for the winter.
  • XD was quite proud to see his progress! He also remembered at this point that humans can't just morph their appearances at will, and require clothing external to them. So he produced several extra outfits for Dream.
  • Dream when XD got him was wearing a lime green shirt and white shorts, and so XD assumes that's what he should look like all the time.
  • He creates an array of different weather outfits based on that color scheme, makes about 20 copies of each outfit and they find space for them in the house.
  • XD assumes this should last Dream for a month or so, and then he can replace whatever Dream actually used.
  • Speaking of used clothing, XD realizes that Dream clearly needs a place to get rid of them once they're used. So he creates a little void linked trash can for Dream to use.
  • Just drop the clothing in once you're done with them and they're gone!
  • XD is very smart and has prepared for every situation.
  • It will be another 10 years before Dream finds out about washing clothing.
  • With all that settled, XD takes a little bit of time to do some basic training. He hasn't quite told Dream that he's going to need to murder two gods in the future. He will, eventually. But for now XD just tells Dream he'll have a big task in the future, and he needs to be ready.
  • Dream accepts this without question and when XD leaves again, he starts dedicating himself to figuring out his new body and to his training.
  • He's also working on reading some of the books that XD left for him on combat tactics.
  • Admittedly, that one is a bit harder. His reading skills aren't quite there yet. But he is working at it! He makes mental notes to ask XD about what some of the words mean. Hopefully his guardian won't be upset that he can't quite make his way through these books.
  • He is 4. An older 4 year old, sure, but he's still 4. I think this is important to remember.
  • XD thankfully isn't upset, and spends some time reading the words out loud to him to help him out. The two of them settle into mostly regular weekly visits.
  • As Dream settles into the area, he starts to explore more, traveling further and further out.
  • He's curious about the world. His former home was very cut off. People couldn't go that far. But there seems to be so much space here! The world just keeps going!
  • One day, he hears something quite strange. The noises seem familiar but aren't quite something he understands. Dream finds himself moving close to the noise, trying to understand it.
  • As he approaches the source of the noise, he hears a familiar word and suddenly it hits him
  • It's another person talking.
  • Oh.
  • Someone else is here too.
