Guys I don't know if these people are serious or not they hate Caitlyn because either she beat and abused Vi or she doesn't care about the underworld, well isn't that what Jinx did too exactly what Cait is doing now. In season 1 we get that Jinx also hurt and abused Vi and tried to kill her too and killed a lot of people. Before anyone comes up and says this and that happened to Jinx. I'm not talking about that the point of this post is "why are people hypocrites why do they accept the actions of one character and when another character does the same thing they don't accept it", I'm not telling you to love Caitlyn or love Jinx or even Vi but I'm telling you to stop making characters look so evil like they were never good to have you forgotten the essence of Cait's character in season 1.

what's happening to Caitlyn now is the same as what happened to Jinx in season 1. And if you accepted Jinx's change in character why don't you accept Caitlyn's change in character too!? Caitlyn is not a villain and she is not a hero either. She is human, she makes mistakes and she will learn from her mistakes and realize the situation and try to fix it.

(Like you can see, the developers made Caitlyn suffer in the intro of the show.)

“Why can't anyone accept Caitlyn’s arc when we could accept Jinx’s, even if they're really similar?”

Jinx is a kid from Zaun, and Caitlyn is the sheriff of the Piltover Enforcers.

Yeah I also didn't like how the writers made Caitlyn look evil on purpose I mean I get that, the problem is the negative perspective they took on Cait's character is exaggerated.

Another suspicious thing is how they can make Jinx appear as a heroine even though she is the one who caused the war between Piltover and Zune. The council was going to agree to peace but Jinx ruined everything. And Jinx destroyed Vi's chances at a new life and destroyed Caitlyn's family and murdered a lot of people.

In my opinion, what the writers did is really weird. I mean, making Caitlin come across as the villain even though she's not. And making Jinx come across as positive and a heroine even though she's not either. I mean, you can compare their core and actions in season 1.

Jinx isn't treated as a heroine at all, half the time she’s the antagonist, but that's besides the point.

The writers made Caitlyn look evil on purpose because Caitlyn is a cop—one who uses chemical warfare and tries to shoot kids no less—and Arcane is one of the most blatantly acab shows in recent history.

Jinx has undoubtedly done evil shit, but she’s doing it in reaction to literal centuries of oppression, while Cait ends the act as a facist attempting to enact even more oppression.

Don't get me wrong, I love Caitlyn, I support women’s rights and women’s wrongs, but the writers aren't demonizing her because they have some sort of hate boner against her, they're doing it to be thematically consistent.

The problem with the Arcane fandom is that some people only want to support characters that are morally superior to someone else. They only care about "winning". It's like some of you cannot comprehend the idea of loving someone when they are at their worst or loving someone through difficult times. That's really sad.

To be fair, this applies to every fandom. It is especially weird to see it in Arcane’s though, because that show goes out of it’s way to make no members of it’s cast morally black or white, they all have notable virtues and flaws.

HIGHKEY don't want timebomb to ever become a thing

Everything they represent is the sacrifice Jinx made when she cast aside Powder. That's all their fight was about: Ekko realising that Powder is dead and all that's left is Jinx.

And on that note, Jinx can't possibly be redeemable. No fucking way. Not only would that be a terrible writing choice since her story is all about her descending into Jinx and we also know that this is what she is in league of legends (never played it though so I can't really talk!), but personally i think that redeemable villains are very overdone nowdays.

Back to my point, Ekko and Jinx just stand for different things fundamentally. Sure, they're both a symbol for the same people, the ones they grew up with. But Jinx has steered off that path. She's not doing anything out of the goodness of her heart or the fact that she wants what's best for them, but out of revenge and hatred. She's not looking toward a future, she's looking towards eradicating Piltover for what it's done to her. That simple.

Ekko is the leader of the Fireflies. They're the third party in the story. They're not driven by any of Zaun's (emphasis that it's not the same under city Ekko strives to protect) or Piltover's ideals. He recognises that both sides are harmful for the people. I think incorporating that into season 2 would be very interesting plot wise and politically.

In conclusion, I have steered from the point but it is that Ekkojinx isn't a romance story, it's the unraveling of a friendship. Sure, the romantic elements are very much there but I think they're for the strengthening of that argument and it makes it even more sad and tragic.

Not really important, but “how Jinx is in League of Legends” means nothing in terms of Arcane, for two reasons:

  1. Characters are extremely different between League Lore and Arcane. Vi hates cops more than anyone in Arcane, and she’s kinda just personified police brutality in League. It’s arguably worse with Jinx, she’s just a kooky crazy explosion addict with a vauge backstory in the game, not a heavily traumatized child who accidentally killed her family and developed psychosis to cope.
  2. All of League Lore is being retconed to match Arcane anyway, so you might as well stick with the main text.

Again, this doesn’t really matter, I agree with you overall, just wanted to clarify
