BOOKS! - Fort Mason - San Francisco, CA - Mamiya 645 Pro - Kodak Portra 400
This is the San Francisco Public Library's massive 4 day book sale. The event is held right along the waterfront in a giant warehouse at the back of Fort Mason. Inside are thousands of books, loosely separated by generalized topics like Photography, Art, Philosophy, and even DIY.
Although I've been in attendance for the last 4 years, I've yet to photograph the event. However, the sheer number of paperbacks and hardcovers, stacked and boxed under beautiful natural window lit pearl light, makes the occasion seem like a dream. A setup that forced film into my camera and out of it's bag. A truly heartwarming sight to see people of all ages spend hours digging around mountains of books, smiling, and act like they've struck gold for every new book they come across.
The next event is in September at the same spot. Check out the website for more info, and did I mention? On the last day of the sale, everything is only one dollar!
The Blue Collar Bridge (Day) - Bay Bridge - Yerba Buena Island - San Francisco, CA - Mamiya 645 Pro - Kodak Portra 400
The other day, I posted a night version of this double image photo set to FullFrameCollective. Here’s the sunlit version I shot earlier.
These are a few photos I shot the other night from Yerba Buena Island. It was my first time up there in the evening, so I didn't know what the wildlife was like. One of funniest things to happen, was when a mob of raccoons attempted to eat my face. Thankfully a rusty fence was conveniently located close enough to hop over and achieve some temporary solace from the onslaught of striped fuzz.
