Some Ignis CGI appreciation 👓
warrior of light: ah hello there, are you an ally in our glorious battle?
noctis:
I just remembered I had the weirdest friggin dream last night (and I rarely dream nowadays) in which I turn around and there is the actual Infernian from FFXV sitting on his flaming hellfire throne in my apartment, and all he has to say for himself is “I’m here for the mushrooms.”

STOP TRYING TO SEDUCE ME, IGNIS!!!! 😲
I imagine ignis can feel noct’s presence every time sylleblossoms get swept by the wind
Have I piqued your curiosity? You must have so many questions. Seek the answers yourself — if you dare.
Final Fantasy XV → Noctis being thrown around
(RE the Ravus post) There's the matter of intent. In the fight with Gladio, Ravus was /mad/. He was mad at Luna for letting herself die. He was mad at Noctis for not being a person worthy of Luna's sacrifice. He was mad at himself for not being able to protect his family /again/. And it's sort of that calm anger, where he is managing to restrain himself to some degree. He doesn't want to be stopped either; he's mad and wants to take his anger out on someone who he believes deserves it (1/3)

(Ask 2/3) “But in the fight with Ignis, Ravus is just /broken/. He's lost everyone and he's upset at the world, at Luna, at Noctis, but most of all at himself. His movements aren't as precise as they were, and he can no longer keep his emotions hidden. And he doesn't want to hurt Noctis, not really. He's just so overwhelmed and feels the need to lash out. And he /wants/ someone to stop him from going through with it. Ignis doesn't even look like he put much force into blocking Ravus' arm,
(Ask 3/3) but Ravus stopped anyway. I feel like even if Ignis hadn't done it, Ravus would've paused before attacking Noctis. Because he didn't want to kill the person Luna died for. He just needed a reason to not go through with it, and Ignis gave him one. Gladio was protecting Noctis since it was his duty (in Ravus' eyes), but Ignis was protecting Noctis because he cares for him the way Ravus cares for Luna
(Ask bonus!) Also, I like the little addition of Ravus trying to protect Ignis and Noctis after Ardyn arrives. Unlike his encounter with Gladio, where Ravus obeyed Ardyn when he told him to leave. It's like he turned his back on his previous beliefs when he thought he could still save Luna, and only followed Ardyn as a means to further protect her. But now, after losing everything, Ignis has given him something new to believe in and fight for. And Ardyn is endangering that”

Hey, yep yep! You reeeeeeaaallllyyy don’t gotta tell me, Anon, haha. Ravus is without a doubt one of my favorite characters from FFXV right up there next to Ignis, as you can probably tell by just scrolling through my blog and my art tag.
That’s pretty much exactly what I wrote here a while ago shortly after the original post. As well as in a fic I started writing way before the original post was written, and in other asks floating around here somewhere…
But no one seems to have read those lol. I did not think to clarify all that in my original post because I didn’t realize at the time a lot of people weren’t automatically going to read my mind and follow the same exact line of thinking I was (pretty dumb of me TBH because I am prone to wild extrapolations in general) and take my perhaps badly-written hint-hint that this was, in fact, a post about Ravus’s arduous journey, and that Ravus wanted to be saved was the main takeaway. He wanted to be stopped and he absolutely would stop.
