I wanna know about Mermaid AU and Immortal, if you wanna share
Ooo, the Mermaid one is super interesting to me. It's actually a CaitVi story that I've been workshopping for the past year or so.
“You sure it’ll be here?” Her voice was skeptical as she stared down at the murky water. Algae collected thickly near the edges, thinning out as they drifted inward to the center. Other plants and flowers bloomed in the water, vibrant orange and pure whites popping against the darker greens. “Positive,” Jinx stated. She was crouched at the end of the dock, a single digit drifting through the water, leaving a clear trail in its wake. “Mylo and Claggor saw it too.” Vi sighed, crouching beside her sister. “I’ll get the boat then, but we need to be smart about this.” Her fingers wrapped around her sister’s wrist and guided her hand away from the water. “We get this catch and we’ll finally be square. So you need to listen to me. We can’t have a repeat of Stillwater.” Jinx stood up, her legs kicking out dramatically as she strolled down the decaying dock. “Yeah, yeah,” she hummed. “I’m serious.” Vi glanced once more at the turbid water, her mind flashing back to the last hunt they’d done. Jinx had been wreckless, her shooting wild and tipping off the monsters before they even had a real chance at catching one. This ruined their prime opportunity since the wetlands they now found themselves at were large and would be a much harder place to search than a lake. Its winding canals would be ideal for hiding and a nightmare for hunting. The hanging willows and tangled roots that littered the upland areas also didn’t help their search. On top of all of this, tales had only told of a singular mermaid. Luck was against them, but Vi tried to remind herself that all they needed was one single catch. Just one and they’d be free.
As for Immortal, that one is for Korrasami. It's inspired by The Old Guard and the idea of immortals living amongst us.
