A Chamberlain Raturday/Caturday

Last week we brought you a couple of signed wood engravings by Sarah Chamberlain from her boxed portfolio of over 100 prints covering five years of her illustrated books, Chamberlain Press, 1980-1985. Today we present two more that served as illustrations for her 1980 publication, The Pied Piper of Hamelin. We don’t know how the cat figures into Chamberlain’s story, as we only have the prints, but clearly the cat does not fare well.

Sarah Chamberlain studied wood engraving with Leonard Baskin and Barry Moser, and this boxed set, limited to an edition of 25 copies printed on Sekishu paper, is yet another gift from our good friend Jerry Buff.

My Neighbors Black Cat had Kittens and they found a baby possum on their deck. The Mama Cat took it in as one of her kittens, But she doesn’t understand why this little funny Kitten hangs on her all the time.
