Jon, Arya, and Dany Appreciation Week: Day 1 → Animal Companions
↳ Daenerys and Arya + horses (and their love of riding them)
The horse broke into a trot, and Dany smiled. She sent it into a gallop, and now the Dothraki were hooting and laughing and shouting at her as they jumped out of her way. As she turned to ride back, a firepit loomed ahead, directly in her path. A daring she had never known filled Daenerys then, and she gave the filly her head. The silver horse leapt the flames as if she had wings.
Arya leaned forward in the saddle and urged the horse to a gallop. “Swift as a deer,” she told her mount. “Run, now, run.” Arya dashed across brown weedy fields, through waist-high grass and piles of dry leaves that flurried and flew when her horse galloped past.
Arya & Lyanna: "In the name of the Warrior, I charge you to be Brave..."
In the name of the Father, I charge you to be Just
They shoved him down every time he tried to rise, and kicked him when he curled up on the ground. But then they heard a roar. ‘That’s my father’s man you’re kicking, howled the she-wolf.' [...]The she-wolf laid into the squires with a tourney sword, scattering them all.

In the name of the Mother, I charge you to defend the young and innocent
"And you're only a butcher's boy, and no knight." Joffrey lifted Lion's Tooth and laid its point on Mycah's cheek below the eye, as the butcher's boy stood trembling. "That was my lady's sister you were hitting, do you know that?" A bright bud of blood blossomed where his sword pressed into Mycah's flesh, and a slow red line trickled down the boy's cheek.
"Stop it!" Arya screamed. She grabbed up her fallen stick. Sansa was afraid. "Arya, you stay out of this." "I won't hurt him . . . much," Prince Joffrey told Arya, never taking his eyes off the butcher's boy.
Arya went for him.
—AGOT, Sansa I
In the name of the Maid, I charge you to defend all women
"I'm sick of carrying him, and I'm sick of all his talk about yielding too. If he could stand up, I'd knock his teeth in. Lommy's no use to anyone. That crying girl's no use either."
"You leave Weasel alone, she's just scared and hungry is all." Arya glanced back, but the girl was not following for once.
—ACOK, Arya V
let me tell you something: arya stark is DEFINED by love. from the very first sentence: “arya is already in love”!!!!! that is what makes her character. the love she feels for her pack. she’s someone who feels love so deeply and strongly. her heart is so big. she accepts people from all walks of life. it doesnt matter if they’re highborn or lowborn. if they’re a bastard or a butchers boy. if they’re pretty or ugly. and she’s completely devoted to the people she lets in her heart. she won’t ever forget about them. she protects and defends and provides for those in her pack; her friends, her family, her people. she would risk her own life for them over and over. her truest motivation is to be reunited with those she loves. and when she loses them? all of them? aryas lost. she doesn’t know what to do with herself. that lost love left leaves a hole where her heart should be. it threatens to destroy her. because her entire identity is built on this love. thats who arya is.
