WHO is out there making these ‘closet/wardrobe’ accounts for post punk bands, you are putting WAY too much thought into this
Talkin' bout my generation... ;)
These were some of my singles/albums of 2020. Were you listening to these? What were you listening to?
@confusedazai posting this primarily for you, Vancouver looks like it had an incredible crowd! I just know there’s a ‘Charlie step on me’ joke somewhere in here but I don’t have the strength to make it 😅
Saw this and immediately had to show you @confusedazai! They’re good friends :)
On the one hand, poor bands having to do all the PR work, on the other hand, I am laughing so hard at this
New music from Shame tomorrow btw
God, I love them
Ok, I need to add on to this:

I nearly forgot, I haven't posted my radio show links in quiiite a while (but I am still doing it. I'm not through yet. I just... didn't this week oops)
But! The last show I did, the week before this, celebrated 11 years of the Gorillaz song Doncamatic, a song that has really grown on me in ways I did not ever think it would, and some great new releases, from artists you know, and don't. I love PVRIS's new song SO MUCH. The whole entire vibe! It's hard rock, it's got groove, Lynn Gunn is so damned cool I cannot. It's just great.
ALSO. I HAD SUBMISSIONS FROM LADY BIRD AND PEANESS, I'M SO FUCKING STOKED I FEEL LIKE INDIE ROYALTY RIGHT NOW.
The playlist for this week was:
- Gorillaz' song Doncamatic, which turned 11 this year!
- PVRIS, with their big alt rock sound
- Irish post punk from Pillow Queens
- Shame
- Classic rock and roll from Welsh band The Bug Club
- Grace Petrie, with laser-sharp, yet heartfelt folk songwriting
- Ojerime
- IDLES, whose album Crawler is out
- T MULLA, Hardy Caprio
- Blue Lab Beats, with Tiana maj9 and Koffi Stone
- Lady Bird (!!)
- Peaness (!!)
- LA rock trio Kill Birds
- Toronto punks PUP, excellent as always
- Grandson and Two Feet
Find this week's playlist here. (But also. Bandcamp links above. In fact, today is Bandcamp Friday. Go check it all out there)
You know that hum sound that (large) commercial fridges have? I cannot walk by one without thinking of Shame’s song Snow Day. They literally have the same tune!
