god, so there was this A&R man who was reportedly uninterested in Muse and Coldplay back in the day and heard their demos and was apparently like ‘fuck off, we don’t need another Radiohead (I am so smart)’ and also later on said he thought Mogwai were gonna be the biggest band on the planet. (He ‘regrets’ not signing them for money reasons, but I don’t think he enjoys listening to either particularly even today.) Don’t get me wrong, I have a lot of love in my heart for Mr. Stuart Braithwaite, but you just KNOW that A&R fella was gonna be the most insufferable man you’d have spent 4 minutes with. How the fuck did you even become A&R if your taste in music is that narrow, also.
youre saying this radio gave you head ?
Still thinking about that headline about Radiohead fans mistaking the band tuning their guitars onstage for a new song, some calling it "very artful", it's beyond parody
via @jaspersforever it was too good to be true ;_; in my heart it is true

There’s this dude in the comment section throwing hot takes such as
- “Arctic Monkeys who ????”
- “There’s been no important bands in the U.K. since the Pistols. Well maybe Stone Roses and Oasis but that’s it”
- “Arctic Monkeys wish they were a shred of the Strokes” (preceding comment #1^)
- “Guitar music is on the way out, it’s all grime tHeSe dAyS” (hoo boy he’d be surprised… but then again, he has amazingly missed the charts over the last 3 entire years so help him) (there is a very specific voice to read the phrase “these days” in. You know the voice or you don’t)
- (On being asked about the band) “Radiohead? College art school band”
and like. I have never been more invested in hearing the shit opinions of a person. Study them. This dude is somehow trapped in 1997, we’ve a walking time capsule here
listening to creep on the radio in the car and after it ended the host just sighed and went “well, im sorry you feel that way thom” and then played the next song
i feel personally offended
The Onion couldn't keep up with this
