So I'd been away for a while for reasons that are looong to get into, so for short let's just say: travel restrictions. Anyway, I'm back and had a show this week, which is up now!
(It's not called World Hopping for nothing you know, as terrible a title as that is. Listen, naming a new episode every week is hard. It's at least a descriptive step up from just putting the show date down, but this podcast is so haphazard... I'll get it together someday!)
I'm quite pleased with this week's setlist, there's a lot of acts I've never played on the show before, some returning artists, here's who we had, with links where you can find them:
Hampshire dreampop band Drug Store Romeos, Superb synth punks Snapped Ankles, Kosovo-Albanian new wave pioneers Gjurmët, A submission from Berlin dark wave trailblazers Pink Turns Blue (!!), Irish debutants Inhaler, who recently topped the UK charts, Belfast, NI band Enola Gay, with a furious new industrial punk song, Scottish riot grrls Brat Coven, Dry Cleaning, with a fantastic new single, Denise Chaila, avant garde Irish M.C., and ditto ^, London musician Laura Mvula with a new album, Danish indie rockers Iceage, Edmonton rock and rollers Sister Suzie.
I've also thrown in a little travelogue just cuz I imagine the podcast gets a bit boring to listen to, with all the music cut out!
