I think about this interview from time to time, about Gruff wanting to add more North Walian accents to what was represented in mass media, with Super Furry Animals

Sitting shaken knees pulled up etc because I just listened to an interview on Huw Stephens' Radio Wales show where Daf Ieuean of Das Koolies talked about how he met Gruff Rhys for the first time when they were "younger than 14" and how they basically started drumming for the first time "on the same day" because they were there for some sort of camp. And to think if I was two days too late in finding this interview I'd have never heard it 😞😭

“Found a large envelope of photos down the side of some shelves last week that I thought were gone. Last seen 14 years ago trying to compile some photos. 

1. First trip to New York 1996. Super Furry Animals pictured on top of the World Trade Center (south tower). Pic by either Andy Saunders or Dick Green taken on a panoramic disposable camera I was carrying around. 

2. Second trip to NYC July 1998 for an SFA/Gorky’s co headline at the Knitting Factory booked by @/glennmax, Euros Childs @/national_elf and Dafydd Ieuan pose for fun on a nearby Limo at JFK or Newark just after landing. Dewi Emlyn from Ffa Coffi Pawb tour managing. Taken on a different panoramic disposable film camera. 

3. SFA started doing month or six week long tours in the US then about twice a year - here 4/5ths SFA at the Motown studio Detroit (1999 I think). Me, @/gutopryce, #daf, @/cianciaran pictured #Bunf maybe took the shot on my camera or was at the venue or something

First the Ffa Coffi Pawb rereleases, now old never before seen SFA pictures from the 90s, Gruff’s been personally treating me this month you’d think!

Hello?? New SFA lore dropped! I haven't come across this video before, but it's part of a documentary on Ffa Coffi Pawb (I consider this SFA lore!) called Allan O'u Pennau, Out of their heads. It's only a 5 minute clip, but I'm gonna sit and watch it tomorrow!
