Ooohhhh Request here! Can we get a Glorfindel, Thranduil and Legolas with a no-nonsense human ruler who'll be their future s/o?
(Say, their kingdom is from far away or across the sea even, and their people are very militaristic, they journey to middle earth to seek alliances against dark forces) a bunch of badasses basically. Thanks!
Oooo yes! This is so fun! Okay, here goes:
Glorfindel:
- The two of you actually didn’t meet in Imladris. You met out in the wilds when Glorfindel was out on a scouting mission with a company of Imladris’ finest soldiers. Your two groups converged on the same group of Orcs from opposite ends, accidentally catching them in a pincher attack which absolutely destroyed them with no causalities for either party. Glorfindel was impressed with you and your people’s skill and wasn’t shy about saying so. He invited you to return with him to Imladris to rest and was absolutely delighted when you told him that was where you were already headed.
- The two of you rode side-by-side at the front of the company on your way back and he asked you about your home, your culture, and why you had traveled so far. The second you told him that you had crossed the sea, he was hooked and wanted to know everything about you.
- When you reached Imladris, he put in a good word for you to Elrond, telling him the story of the battle. It took a lot of restraint for him to keep his mouth shut and let you explain your purpose in Imladris, rather than excitedly telling Elrond himself.
- Normally someone like Glorfindel would annoy you, but you can’t help but find him charming. It helps that he’s literally the most skilled warrior you’ve ever seen.
- The two of you fell fast and hard for each other within your first visit to Imladris. Though neither of you said anything for a long time and it was Arwen, actually, who pushed Glorfindel to admit his feelings.
- He was actually really shy about it, asking you to go for a ride with him after a long council session with Elrond. When you asked where he was planning on going, he just cracked a wide grin and said “No, mellon nin! If I told you, it would ruin the surprise!”
- You totally knew he was up to something but you couldn’t, for the life of you, figure out what.
- He took you through the woods and up a winding trail. The two of you burst into a clearing that overlooked the Bruinen cascade and the sight of it took your breath away. The falls were so close you could reach out and touch them. He couldn’t help but stand there and smile as he watched the look on your face as you slid out of your saddle and went to the edge of the overlook.
- He absolutely packed snacks and a very small, very dumb, very practical part of you loved that.
- The two of you sat in silence for a long time and watched the sunset and the stars come out. He talked in circles and you could sense that he was nervous. The two of you ended up horizontal in the grass with your heads nearly touching, pointing out constellations. He told you their Elvish names and you told him what your people called them. You slowly gravitated closer and closer together until, at one point, you turned to look at him and realized just how close you were.
- His wide grin faded into something much softer and his ears flushed pink. “What?” you asked. He blushed an even deeper shade of red and laughed. “I am one of mightiest warriors in all of Middle Earth, and still you somehow manage to make me as nervous as an ellon barely past their majority.”
- You’re so surprised. For some reason you just didn’t think you were his type. He explains that he really admires you, especially how practical you are and how you always seem to keep a level head.
- He asks before kissing you. And it’s a really gentle, soft kiss, which you deepen into something much more passionate.
- Once you’re in a relationship he is so attentive. He constantly brings you little snacks and gifts and tries to make you laugh when you’re being way too serious for your own good.
- Glorfindel loves hearing about your home and your culture and could listen to you talk for hours and absolutely does.
- The two of you are often traveling your separate ways. You’re pretty busy with the demands of ruling your kingdom and Glorfindel is responsible for Imladris’ safety, but neither of you mind. It just makes you cherish the time you have together all the more.
Thranduil:
- When you first came to Mirkwood to treat with him, he found you intriguing. He doesn't accept many foreign emissaries, but your interests aligned and he granted you an audience and he was not disappointed. Thranduil is used to easily intimidating those around him. He has incredible presence and he knows it, and at first your refusal to be cowed annoyed him, but you held firm and that earned you his respect.
- At first he was pretty disinterested in your culture. While he has an appreciation for the kind of deadly efficiency you and your people are known for, he assumed that came at the cost of interesting conversation. It came as a pleasant surprise when you were able to keep up with him both at the dinner table and in his council chamber. Plus, he's a pragmatist and he enjoys how you don't waste his time with idle pleasantries.
- Oh, and you can't drink him under the table but you damn well try and he likes that about you.
- This is a slow burn sort of situation. Over the next few years, while forging alliances, you return again and again to Mirkwood and each time Thranduil is just a bit friendlier than the time before.
- First kiss happened after a rather heated argument which neither of you can really even remember very well. Eventually you challenged him to settle it the old-fashioned way in the training yard-- which he found hilarious-- until, of course, you actually were able to knock him off balance. Next thing you knew he slammed you up against a wall with an exclaimed: ‘you’re insufferable!’ quickly followed by ‘and you enchant me’ . His nose brushed yours. Your gaze fell to his mouth. The rest is history.
- Can you say power couple?????
Legolas:
- Total enemies to lovers situation. When the two of you met when you came to Mirkwood on a diplomatic mission, there were sparks-- and not necessarily in a good way. Legolas was skeptical of your people’s intentions and viewed you as a possible threat. Plus, the two of you are both sassy as hell and at first that rubbed him the wrong way. The two of you constantly pushed each other’s buttons and that resulted in wounded egos and more than a few intense arguments.
- Especially when it came to the dark forces gathering throughout Middle Earth. The two of you had a hard time finding common ground about strategies for dealing with them.
- Drinking games! You beat him once and you’ve never let him live it down.
- Eventually that bickering and teasing turned more and more good-natured as the two of you got used to each other and realized your senses of humor aligned.
- He began to fall for you when he saw how precise and skilled you were during sparring matches in the training yard, and started to find increasingly ridiculous reasons to be there at the same time as you so he could watch you train.
- You, likewise, kept finding increasingly ridiculous reasons to watch him train. His skill with a bow absolutely floored you the first time he demonstrated it (but of course you maintained a perfectly neutral expression the whole time and said, begrudgingly: “not bad”-- and he gave you the most offended look because he knows he’s hot stuff with a bow).
- The first kiss happened just after a battle. While you were visiting Mirkwood, an Orcish host attacked one of the outposts near the caverns. Legolas gathered up some reinforcements to aid the garrison and you insisted on coming along, and he wasn’t about to refuse help. You took your crew to join his and the two of you fought side-by-side and made short work of the attacking force-- and that was really when both of you realized just how much you admired and cared for the other person. When Legolas’ marchwarden sounded the victory, you grabbed him and kissed him soundly. He was shocked for a second, and then immediately melted into it.
- so much sass. so much bickering. now that the two of you are in a relationship you still argue like an old married couple. the servants and soldiers under your command know to stay out of it. Every time one of you tries to get somebody else to back you up, they’re just like ‘no thanks i choose life!’
- Thranduil was skeptical of your relationship at first but he came around when he saw how happy you make his son.
