hm. :P
I already got a new male to replace a breeding male who is still a hatchling hahaha
This is actually Jefe/Hephaestus’s dad. Noble reptiles put him up for sale yesterday. He will be replacing Jefe in all my breeding projects, because he is a more potent and already proven breeder.
Hes a super disco enchi pos het hypo pos het rainbow. “Super” disco meaning that no matter what he passes on the disco gene to his offspring. He will create no normals. I dont think ill be working with the hets, although rainbow intrigues me.
YALL DONT KNOW HOW STOKED I AM
to be dumb on main but i haven’t gotten the 411 on rainbow- is it a line of albino? i can’t tell from this image, but the pupils look red like a nana, and i don’t think nanas are considered one of the albino lines.
It is considered a recessive albino mutation, but supposedly has not been shown to be compatible or allelic to t+, t-, or lavender albino. A reliable source proved out t- incompatibility (Van Hellem) but im not sure i fully believe the other albinos have been actively tried with rainbow.
I like the way OTB Reptiles, who has been working with the morph, describes rainbow: “the sasquatch of morphs.” People heard for a while about this mystery gene in the Bells’ animals, but no one had actually seen a homozygous rainbow.
It wasnt until just 4 years ago we had full confirmation that rainbow existed. There is word that Herman Van Hellem, a relatively well known breeder and frequent customer of the Bell’s, had been working with the rainbow gene in Europe prior to this time frame, but there was still almost no public information on the gene until Ted Thompson of Susquehanna Ectotherms produced the first few in the US in 2015. IIRC, Thompson had imported a disco combo from Van Hellem that possibly held the rainbow gene, and when he paired offspring back to it, BOOM- the first rainbow albinos in the USA.
TBH Rainbow looks almost identical to the banana morph (without the freckles), but retains its brighter colorations into adulthood much better than bananas do. They’re still ridiculously expensive, and therefore not very common or explored.

How do you think Sailor Snek transforms? Curls into a ball of pink light and slowly unfurl or coil into the shapes of the symbols of transformation?

Hey y’all. I haven’t been around for a while because of general life busy things (I got a new job! I moved like 500 miles away! So many things!)
But also, in the wake of the monumental changes on tumblr, I had something weird happen on my account. I got an email warning me about uploading adult content, but it was addressed to the wrong user and I haven’t uploaded anything here in a month. Currently trying to figure out what’s going on.
I hope all of you are faring well in this Tumblrocalypse.

Hey all… i have a really odd request. As you may or may not know, my beloved texas rat snake died last night. It has always been my dream to have her skeleton articulated for display. To get this done professionally, it going to cost about $800+shipping both ways.
So i am begging you PLEASE help me out. Even if you only donate a dollar that helps.
