As long as you are here- EdSer OS
To say that she was knackered was an understatement of the year. When did life become so hard? Or when did it refuse to fix itself? When did it vow to deny a tiny portion of tranquility in her life? It amazed her that she had not collapsed yet. The stress, the worry, the constant uncertainty of life was taking a toll on her. The two months she spent without Serkan, hanging onto the hope felt the hardest until he came back, and making him realize her love for him felt harder than that. All those hurdles made her realize that it was meant to be for a new beginning. A start for her and Serkan that meant eternal joy, and a happily ever after. But in their case, it wasn't a happily ever after. This was surely not a fairy tale as she had anticipated.
Eda was running short on deadlines. Even though she had managed Art Life without Serkan before, this time it was harder than she had thought. Serkan didn't warn her about this. Six months ago, when she learned about his tumor and decided that she won't sit idle and allow him to waste this time, she did not expect things to be this hard. News of Serkan's condition spread like a wildfire, and media houses were not taking it with empathy. How cruel one can be in the name of few clicks? Their rivals were looming around, seeking a chance to grab whatever they had. They left no chance in financially destabilizing their business empire, and if wasn't for Kemal Bey's help, Eda did not know, how she would have tackled it with a right mind, while constantly juggling between home, hospital, and office.
They had lost two important clients, and this did not settle well with Serkan. Nothing was settling well with him ever since his treatment started and Eda coerced him to stay home. He had accused her of keeping him caged so he dies fast. It hurt her of course, but she knew he was too frustrated with the things going on that at times he did not realize what came out of his mouth. Eda did not know what was more difficult, managing the holding or its Boss? Anyhow, both one thing in common. They were nearly impossible to deal with sometimes. She knew it was wrong to complain like this but sometimes, sometimes we are tired of everything that it is okay to spare a thought and be mad at things and people, even if it isn't justified.
It was a long day, and she was looking forward to his warm embrace after a dreadful day at work. Though she hadn't lost any clients this time, she had lost some important employees because they did not feel like working under the incompetency of Eda Yildiz. According to them, their abilities weren't being utilized well, and it was better to leave. What hurts the most was that they felt that their boss was never gonna come back. They had worked under her before, but this time it was different. This time Eda knew that she wasn't at her best. This time she would find herself breaking down in some corner of the office, reaching late for meetings, struggling to make the right decision, unable to meet the demands of their workers, lacking logical thinking because every single time, 24/7 the only thing looming on her mind was Serkan.
The man she loved.
Three months back, doctors had completely given up the hope that he would recover. She even feared to think of the words they had uttered. But she never lost hope. She knew God won't be so cruel to her this time. She knew faith is to keep going. So she did. She kept going, holding Serkan's hand, asking him to trust her, so they can cross this hurdle together.
'Do you trust me?' She had asked him one day
More than myself."
'then trust me one last time, and be with me on this journey. Serkan, we never gave up on ourselves then why should we now? "
That day, as scared as he was today, or probably more, Serkan held Eda Yildiz' hand to embark on another crusade. This was a difficult one, and they both knew in heart that it might not lead them anywhere. Yet, they did believe in each other, prayed intently for another miracle. A miracle was all they needed in life.

"Hey Honey! I am home" Eda entered the apartment announcing her arrival while wiping the tear from the crook of her eye, wearing the mask that she normally did around him.
She got a bit paranoid when she didn't hear him say anything back and dropped her bag to look for him but she wasn't met by a pleasant sight. This was lowkey expected because it had become a routine now. Eda knew what was coming so she braced herself.
Serkan was lying on the couch, with his laptop on his knees, wearing a scorned expression. It was not hard to tell that he was still mad at her. This morning, they argued about him going back to the office but she denied it, fearing that the stress was not good for him, and it seemed that he had not taken that well. Like a little boy mad at his parents, Serkan Bolat was on his laptop unbothered by Eda's presence. Eda attempted to decrease the tension of the environment by embracing him from behind and nibbling his ear.
"Hey, baby! What is that has caught your eye that you can't even say Hi." She uttered suggestively, wishing that her touch would have a similar effect on him as it did before. Hoping that this evening won't be ruined with another fight.
Eda began to nibble onto his nape and settled on the couch to take his lips but Serkan did not react or even bother to say a single word. He continued to stare at the laptop screen and jerked off her arms around his neck twitching his tongue.
"Grow up Eda. I'm working." He registered icily.
"Uh Hunh, what is it?" She wasn't going to allow him to break her. She knew he tried hard to dissuade her with his words and behavior but she knew she won't allow that to happen even if it cost her own self-respect.
"Why? You think I don't have my own work to do just because I'm sitting idle at home?" There we go. He started again. Eda saw it coming the moment she left for home but she hadn't prepared herself already.
"I did not mean that." She tried to soothe him by running a hand on his arm but Serkan jerked it off.
"Did you have your medicines?"
"I'm not a kid Eda, for the love of God, stop treating me like one. I know I have to take those good-for-nothing meds to hover around you for the next few months." He yelled throwing away the laptop from her knees.
"Serkan, please calm down. What is it?" Eda tried to calm him down with an assertive tone, running her hands on his face, wishing that he would remember that she still loves him, more than he could even imagine. "What's wrong? We can fix this."
"Fix this? Is there anything left to fix? Why can't you accept the fact that you can't fix everything? You can't fix me! You can't fix the mess at the office. You can't fix the whole world Eda Yildiz." He was screaming, words and tears coming out of his eyes like a bow from an arrow. He was mad, he was furious that he had to switch between home and office, leaving everything behind, staying oblivious to things for a future that was not certain. He hated it. He was ready to die but he did not want to die like this. He did not know why he was mad. He did not care much about the holding yet he was concerned about the way things were being handled. He heard from leyla about the blunders, and even if Eda did not agree, he knew Art Life was going to collapse along with the holding. But this was just a reason to get mad, a reason he found himself to lash at her. In reality, he was tired. He was no longer willing to hold Eda's hand and continue this journey. And it pained him that she was bearing the burnt because of him. Instead of using the best years of her life, she was wasting them after a man, whose existence was in question. He knew his words were harsh, they made him hate himself. He wished Eda would realize that she was fighting a lost battle. His behavior was an attempt to push her away from him. Every day he would do something anticipating that she will leave him, and that would be enough to kill him instead of his brain tumor.
Eda continued to stare at him with brimmed eyes. "Good night Serkan."
She was not going to fight him. She had stopped doing so because she knew what he was doing and it was useless to say anything. All she was did was hope and pray that he would understand she wasn't happy to put them through this.
................................................................................
"Hey, what happened?" Eda opened her eyes as she felt his fingers trailing across her cheeks.
"Sorry, I woke you up." He mumbled with a shaking voice. His eyes were red and it seemed he had been crying. again
"Serkan?" Eda let out a silent cry, her heart tearing apart seeing him in that state. He had lost a considerable amount of weight in the last 6 months, Gym was out of the question, his beard was grown, and he did not look anything like the Serkan she knew.
"Why are you still here?" he asks her with a staggering voice
"because we don't leave the ones we love." She ran her fingers in his hair as he rested his head in her lap.
"Would you forgive me?" he implores in between sobs, soaking her beige nightdress with tears.
"What makes you think I won't?"
"I can't recognize myself, Eda. I'm not the man you fell in love with."
"I only need to recognize this." She placed a gentle hand on his heart and he looked at her on the verge of another breakdown.
"I love you."
"And I love you more than you can imagine."
"I hate this."
"Me too."
"Will this get over?"
"It will. Just like the way you came back to me before, you would too this time as well."
"how do you know?"
"I'm a fairy, you remember that right?" They chuckled amidst their cries. "I know we have a lifetime to spend together."
"Eda, I'm sorry. This treatment, this whole thing is killing me inside. I don't know what gets onto me sometimes and I forget who am I."
"I know baby, I know. You need not explain." Eda placed a long kiss on his hair, urging him to join her in the bed. She missed him, she missed his embrace more than anything.
"Serkan, promise me you will make up for this once this is over."
"Promise." He looked at her as his mouth fells to hers. His teeth sinking into her lower lip until she moaned. His hands rove over her thighs, continuing pressing warm, sensuous kisses along her lips and down her neck. His fingers dragged her nightdress until it hit the bottom. He nibbles his way up her legs, pausing to give her calves and thighs a little extra attention. Then his hands spread her knees and he settles between them, his mouth hovering over her sex as he spreads the wet folds apart before diving into feast on her. It doesn't take him long to have Eda writhing and screaming in pleasure. She nearly comes when his tongue laps at her entrance before delving in to lick her dry. She grabs onto clumps of his hair for purchase, needing that anchor to keep herself from falling over the edge too soon, but it doesn't work. When his fingers replace his tongue as it moves to her clit, it's over. She comes with a startled cry as her orgasm rips through her quickly and suddenly. Her entire body shakes to the core and she has to push Serkan away because she can't handle any more stimulation at that moment.
He still ends up on top of her though, his arms wrapping around her back to hold her against his chest until her breathing evens out and she feels normal again. "Fuck," Eda murmurs into his ear before taking the lobe into her mouth to give it a gentle suck before letting go. She feels Serkan shiver in response, his arms tightening around her waist. He buries his face in the crook of her neck, breathing in deep. Her back arches up off the bed, taking him in to the hilt as she cries out in pure ecstasy. Then he's pounding into her, his pace hard and fast and relentless, giving her no respite as he fucks her to oblivion. She begins to see stars when she squeezes her eyes shut, letting the sensations overtake her. Nothing matters at that moment aside from him giving her everything she wants and more.
Due to the pent-up frustration in him, he feels the need to release right now. And when he finally does, it's like a dam breaking. He loses his rhythm, his hips slamming into her erratically, and he cries out her name before his head drops to the crook of her neck and he bites down, leaving yet another bruise on her skin. Her muscles clench around his cock, milking him until he has nothing left to give, and they both slump into the bedsheets, sated and spent. "God, I love you so much," he whispers into her ear without raising his head. Eda smiles.
"Don't ever stop loving me. I won't be able to breathe." She whispers back nuzzling his cheek before pressing a soft kiss to his temple. They lay like that for a while, holding each other in a warm embrace until Serkan rolls them onto their sides. He's smiling that beautiful, warm, gentle smile she's come to realize only comes out for her, and she can't help it. Her lips press to his for a soft kiss before she pulls back.
"Eda, I'm scared." He admits truthfully.
"Me too. But we can't let our fears take over our happiness, right?" He gleams at him caressing his thighs with her delicate fingers.
"I abhor walking through those hospital corridors, and seeing that expression on your face." He was letting it out, finally. And she couldn't be more relieved.
"We will be walking through those corridors one last time, and returning back with good news to share with our friends. Tamam?"
He didn't need to say anything. He pressed his forehead with hers, basking in the glory of her warmth and love for the rest of the night. While whispered sweet words of love, he let out a prayer, pleading to God to give him one last chance to make up for the times he had hurt her. He wanted to survive, he wanted to live for her.
Crucial times test your love more than anything
It's okay to breakdown
It's okay to be mad
But it's never okay to leave the ones you promised a lifetime.
