A QUIET PLACE: DAY ONE (2024) dir. Michael Sarnoski
There needs to be a scene of a cat cuddling up to a poorly/recovering whumpee. It's a need not a want 😂. Or even a kitty comforting a crying whumpee. My cat is actually very attentive when I'm upset and likes to rub his face all over mine.
I AGREE VERY STRONGLY MY LOVELY NONNY!!!!!
You wanna talk about underrated tropes? THIS RIGHT HERE!!! I love this so much that one of the very first things I ever wrote and posted to this blog was a short scene in which my oc Remy is very injured and gets comforted by a cat in the alleyway he's collapsed in. Wanna read it? You can find it here: https://www.tumblr.com/aceofwhump/176284148889/friendlylocalwhumper-what-animal-if-it-cuddled?source=share
Cats are such amazing comforting creatures and they are totally slept on. Dogs get a lot of shoutouts but cats are also cuddly and they, in my own experiences as well, know when you're upset and get very attentive. My own cat before he passed would always sit on my chest when I cried and nuzzle my face. Cats are amazing and I'd love to see more kitty comfort in whump!!
Happy Whumpmas (੭*ˊᵕˋ)੭*🎅⛄❄️!!! You have just been snowballed by a secret whumper. Help to keep the snowball fight going by anonymously sending this to five other whumpers with a whump-related question of your choice: favorite whump from a British show and favorite whump from an American show and because I'm mean, you can only choose one example for each 😈! I also demand a photo of your adorable cat 😉! Merry Christmas, dear! Xxxx
I CAN ONLY CHOOSE ONE FOR EACH!?!?!? Oh nonny you are mean!! That's so hard!! i watch so many British and US shows!! SO MANY!
Okay so I made a list of my favorites and it got.....incredibly long. My god I have a lot of favorites. But I think I'm going to choose these two whump moments as my *favorite
British: Fuck there's so many to choose from!!!! Ahh!! Okay I guess I'm going to go with Merlin 1x04 "The Poisoned Chalice" for my favorite whump from a British show at this moment in time. I have lost count of how many times I've watched this episode. It's so good. The self sacrifice talking the poison for Arthur, the choking and collapsing, the high fever, the wheezing way he breaths, the way Arthur worries, the caretaking. IT'S PERFECT (sidenote but I apparently haven't giffed this episode and I need to change that soon)
American: I'm agonizing over this one i tell you but for right now I'm going to go with another one that is always a huge favorite of mine and that I've watched like 1000 times. Hawaii Five-0 8x10. Danny gets shot while theyre all trapped in isolation? Bleeding out, unable to breathe, hallucinating, extremely worried and panicky Steve who has to conduct surgery on him? AMAZING! BEAUTIFUL! PERFECT
And a picture of my kitty just for you! She likes to sit in this chair while me and my family eat dinner and patiently waits for us to give her tiny scraps. It's adorable. Sometimes she'll reach out with her paw and like tap us on the arm. It's the most polite way of asking for food I've ever seen from a cat. I love her so much.
Merry Christmas!!!
*subject to change based on my mood
Does the kitty have a name? She's so sweet! You officially get the award for the cutest cat on top of the award for the best blog! Greedy or what? 😂
Lol! 😂 Aww thanks!! You're so sweet!
Yes she now has a name! After much deliberation, my family and I decided to name her Sable 🥰 And my phone is now full of photos of her lol
She's so cute I'm dying.
Kitty is so gorgeous! A few things I would offer advice on if you don't mind (over the course of my life I've had 50 cats and I do rescue so I've been dealing with all this quite a lot), torties can be temperamental with other cats, keep that in mind if you want to get another! (It's not a guarantee, but a lot are prone to that), you may want to have her tested for coccidia, where I am it's gotten wildly out of control, though it rarely effects adult cats, ask your vet!
I'll always listen to advice for kitties! I've always had cats in my house but it's been a long time since we've gotten a new one. My three cats are all passed now but they lived to be in their 20s and were super easy to take care and very healthy. All indoor as our new baby will be. I will definitely take your advice into consideration! I've never had a torite before so that is very good to know! We usually have multiple cats so I will absolutely keep that in mind if we start thinking about getting another one. And I will ask the vet about coccidia when she goes for her visit. Unfortunately money is very tight right now so she's going to have to wait another week or so for payday for her vet visit. She seems pretty healthy but I'm not a vet and I want to get her a basic check up for sure. I will ask about coccidia! Thanks for the advice!
Okay I haven't been on here for a couple of days now but I have a good excuse!
I got a cat!!
We didn't plan on it at all. My aunt found her pawing at the glass door of her work office. No collar, looking very sad, very tired, hungry and thirsty (btw my aunt lives and works in the middle of nowhere. Fields and farms and nothing else for miles). My aunt took her inside and got her food and water but she couldn't take her in and asked if we wanted her. Long story short, we drove out and picked her up a few days ago.
She's so sweet and affectionate and was clearly someone's pet that someone just dumped in the middle of nowhere and left. There are no residences for miles. She didn't just wander a little too far away from home. And we don't think she's been outside for a long time based on her condition. A week tops. She's already super happy and comfortable in our house. We just gotta get our dog used to her. She's got a vet visit in a few days so we can make sure she's healthy, see if she's been spayed, etc and we'll check for a chip but I doubt we'll find one. We also told my aunt to be on the lookout for any missing cat posters. Also doubt any will be found. For now she's is safe and happy in our home!
She's so cute!!! 😻🥰
I am so sorry to hear about Midnight!! I am glad that you and your family was able to be with him. I may not have known him personally, but I bet 1000% that he was a super special and super awesome kitty. Sending loving thoughts to you and your family! ❤❤❤❤ As always, my askbox and messenger are open. I might not know what to say, but I am a good listening ear.
Thank you hun! I really appreciate that. Yeah I’m really glad I was able to be there with him when it happened and that we didn’t have to take him to the vet. And that we all somehow woke up around the same time in order to be with him was just incredible. Horrible to watch him pass but he wasn’t alone and he was home. That’s all I can ask for. At 16 years old he lived a good long life.
Here’s a pic of him if you wanted to see. Gonna miss him so much.
Midnight passed away last night surrounded by his family. Even though I am utterly wrecked and heartbroken by what's happened I'm glad he passed away at home and on his own and that we were all somehow woken up at 2:00am in order to be with him when he passed away. Goodbye kitty. I'll love and miss you forever. I hope you're with Jake and Amber in kitty heaven.
Still hurts, but enough time’s passed for me to get out this bit of catharsis. I miss my kitty.
