Okay so I watched the 2017 Baywatch movie last night because of the gifsets I saw of Zac Efron being locked in a cage, tied up, gagged, and thrown into the ocean and now that I’ve watched the movie can I just say that the whump potential is SO GOOD! I have feelings. (This may only make sense if you see the movie but all well)

So you’ve got the blatant whump (which I just described above. the drowning incident). I’d love to see the aftermath of that since the movie couldn’t go into that. I mean he was hit on the head, knocked out, tied up, and almost drowned. There must be repercussions.

Zac Efron’s character grew up in foster care. “I take it you’re an only child.” “I don’t know, honestly.” “You don’t know?” “I grew up in a foster home.” “Oh, shit.” “Three of them, actually.”

And he was homeless when he came to Baywatch, sleeping under the pier, which all lends itself to emotional whump. (with the Rock’s character taking care of him like a father figure)

Some of Zac’s lines were left a little ambiguous? Like, they made me question things. For example, he says that his relay team at the Olympics didn’t deserve to win and he went drinking the night before the race knowingly. Why? What was the reason? What happened? The Rock also talks about how Zac ruined it for his Olympics family but it never sounds like they were much of a family. Potential whump right here. “I knew the relay was the next day, but those guys… They didn’t care about me. They just needed me to win.”

And then there’s the classic sickfic. Zac’s character is just asking for a good sickfic.

I just have thoughts and I need fics and I can’t write for shit or I’d write them myself.
