I like this person but they are in a relationship

We are really close I don’t want to lose them by confessing my feelings

What would you do

If they’re with someone, I definitely wouldn’t make my feelings known if I were you. That will just make things awkward for both of you. I would try to get some space from them if I felt like my feelings were becoming too much to handle.

It’s hard to fall for someone who is already with someone else. But if you really care about them as a friend, you wouldn’t want to hurt them or their relationship. I’m sorry you’re in this situation, but I hope you can do the right thing.

Thank you, anon. My inbox/dms are always open

Everyone I know thinks abstract art is stupid. I disagree to an extent. What’s your opinion on it?

This is a great question, anon. :)

To me, art is a personal experience. If you like the abstract art, that’s great! If I like the realism style, that’s also great. :) That’s why there are so many different kinds of artists!

I think we would get bored if there was only one type of art style out there. The diverseness of art gives it its purpose—it inspires and it offends. That’s why we keep making more. To prove a point or add to the beauty.

If you like abstract art, that’s amazing and I’m happy to hear it:) if people argue with you, you can try to research some points to solidify your stance, otherwise, just shrug and say, “I like it, and that’s what matters to me.”

This pertains to books/writers, too. I know a lot of readers who enjoy classics that I don’t, while I find meaning in classics that they can’t understand. It’s like how you can’t have darkness without light. Differences highlight and contrast, therefore evoking meaning and purpose.

Tell me, what abstract piece do you like the most, anon? :) how does it make you feel? Thank you<3

36: “Are you an open book or do you have walls up?”:

Walls. Walls upon walls upon walls. I wish it were otherwise, but unfortunately, after everything I’ve been through, I cannot be any other way. It’s a protective barrier that keeps me safe. But it also keeps me lonely. Unfortunately I think that’s just how I am.

-thank you anon:)

⚠️ TW for brief reference to sh. & Dissociation.

29: “what do you do when you’re sad?”

Technically I already answered this, but I can elaborate a little bit. It really depends what I’m sad about. If it’s about myself (grades, body, mental health), I get really self critical and depressed. Suddenly my brain says what’s the point and reverts back to old, self destructive tendencies and thoughts. I have struggled with my mental health since I was ~13, and I had bad habits back then. If you know what I mean. Those habits followed me into adulthood, and so sometimes they tempt me again, but I really try to avoid it. (138 days since!) Although now I have newer bad habits too. It’s a constant battle.

If I’m sad about something external (death), then I just get quiet and retreat into myself. Strangely, also, I clean. I clean anything I can as a way to distract myself and I think to try to get control over a situation.

Side note, it’s hard for me to “feel” sad because of my dissociation (I know that’s confusing). But what I mean is that sad emotions just push me deeper into dissociation, so sometimes it feels like nothing but also heavy and painful. I’m not sure if that even makes sense.

Thank you, anon! :)

1: “What are three things you’d say shaped you into who you are?”:

* my childhood

* Uni

* my love of literature

5: “What made you start your blog?”:

answered :)

15: “What do you think of when you hear the word ‘home’?”:

This is a hard one. I think of my house, but I also think of my friends, and one person, and my dog, and my bed, and sleeping, and a good cup of coffee. This word is apparently very abstract for me.

17: “Name three things that make you happy”:

* my friends

* my dog

* reading and writing

37: “Share a secret”:

Hmmm… I fall in love very easily, and usually with multiple people at once.

(Thank you, anon!:))

Questions 5, 20, and 40….

Am I allowed to ask more than one? No? Oops, too late lol

Of course you are:)

5: “what made you start your blog?”:

I started posting to share my love of literature, academia, vampires, and autumn. It felt like Pintrest but more community driven:) I like pretty things, so arranging aesthetic moodboards and sharing literature quotes was right up my alley.

20: “favorite thing about the night?”:

The moon, the stars, the silence.

40: “any bad habits?”:

Many. For this, I will say that I am addicted to coffee.

Thank you, anon <3

12: “what’s some good advice you want to share?”

Although this is a pretty vague question, I will think of something. One thing I think about a lot is that saying “love your neighbor as yourself.” And I think that this can be turned around to be, “love yourself as your neighbor, too.”

You do not shame your friend who scores bad on a test. You do not ridicule the person you see on the street because of how they look. You do not call your friends ugly or dumb or hopeless. So why do you do this to yourself? That same kindness that you so freely offer to strangers and others—channel that inward. Direct your kindness into yourself. So,

Love yourself as your neighbor, too. :) hope that counts as advice.

Do you get overly protective/protective of people you love?

Extremely. Sometimes to a fault. Especially when it’s someone who is very innocent or naive—I feel like I need to protect them from any type of manipulation.

Also, I am close with a lot of people who have very tragic pasts, and so I am very protective with them, too. This sounds cringey but I really try to be a safe space for them. I think I am. They say so, at least. I can’t even count the amount of times people have come to me sobbing because they knew I would comfort them. It’s really sweet, honestly. (Not sweet that they’re crying, but sweet that they know I will protect them and take care of them when they come to me.)

Thank you for your great question :)

What’s your favourite canto from Dante’s inferno?

Such a great question. My favorite is probably the last canto (canto 34). Particularly, it is the last line that made me fall in love with this canto. The line reading:

"E quindi uscimmo a riveder le stelle.”

Or, translated:

"And then we emerged to see the stars again.”

Even still, there are so many amazing cantos in Inferno, so it’s hard to choose. How about yourself? I want to hear everyone’s favorites :)
