What about copper dragons? How do you feel about them? Also please give your kitty a cuddle from me!

Copper dragons are VERY GOOD. I like copper as a color and it makes them very dashing and handsome. Their design is good and so is their penchant for riddles and jokes. Plus they live on Rocky Mountains? Very good.

And I will give Moth a cuddle when he’s back. We have to sit in a car outside the clinic and he’s inside being treated now...

What was the backstory for your first character?

Avatar

Lolol! To be honest, I don’t remember. Her name was Sakaki and she was an elven sorceress. I don’t even recall what became of her. I made her in the spot for my first game when hanging out with the boys who taught me DnD.... I do recall our DM got frustrated with us and made a triangle of industructable ducks follow us around that quacked constantly...

The the first character I remember? Weslynn! She was a Niomus rogue/swashbuckler. She was sort of a stereotypical rogue who started off just conning people, stealing, swindling, and causing ruckus. She had left her eyrie and clan to travel amongst the non winged humanoids to gain wealth as she had been low born in her eyrie. Then she got tied up with K’van and Innovus, an elvish fighter and a gnomish wizard, and tasked by the order of the red fist to save the world! In the end, she became a hero and multi-classes into rogue/swashbuckler. She got a girlfriend, returned to her eyrie, and settled down after her adventure with lots of treasures!

(To pass the time) what is your favorite spell in dnd?

Okay... I had to split this into two. A favorite cantrip and a favorite advanced spell.

My favorite cantrip is Guidance. When I’m playing as a cleric, I literally just touch folks shoulders or elbows or whatever and am like “go with the maker” or some other silly clerical saying and then when my party members get to add bonuses to their roles, they get so happy and it makes me happy! It’s also really fun to come up with various sayings a cleric might give for guidance.

My favorite advanced spell is Legend Lore. It’s useful in deducing the origin of items and helps really add flavor to the bard. They pick up a thing and their magic is like: “this reminds me of a thing that might be vaguely related to this thing”. I just think it’s neat! People might view it as a waste of a spell slot, but I think it’s quite flavorful! And from a DM perspective, you get to really world build if you have a player who uses legend lore. It’s like the item descriptions in Dark Souls or like the flavor text on a Magic card. Bits of world can creep in for both dm and players alike to enjoy!!

Sorry about your cat, hope he's OK! What's your favorite kind of dragon and why?

Thank you! We are very worried about him. He’s had a rough go of it in his short life.

I love Silver Dragons! The collect fine fabrics and jewels (clothes and dice?) They also love eating humanoid foods and I relate to both of these traits on a deep level.

At the emergency vet with my wife to get my cat, Mr Moth, checked out. He vomited 4 times in 3 hours!!! Send good vibes and also feel free to send asks to help me pass the time while we figure out what’s wrong with him.

hi whats the character sheet underneath your dice?

Awesome question! I use the Arcana Note! My lovely players @rhymes-with-skyand @piggykisses got it for me for from a kickstarter that created a leather bound DMs journal meant for crafting full campaigns! I have extra pages with character sheets etc that I use for taking dice pictures!

Who made the starry dice in the starscapes post?

Do you mean the d6s with the stars? Gio Lasar. He makes some pretty great dice! Check them out here.

Hope that’s what you meant!

“Don’t play dnd kids, you’ll lose a gender.”

You know. This is funny in a shared queer experience way, but also like... TTRPGS are so valuable to queer people. The freedom and safety provided by the table and your fantasy world can help you explore aspects of yourself and eventually come out. D&D and Vampire the Masquerade helped me realize I was maybe not straight. Call of Cthulhu helped me realize I was ABSOLUTELY not straight. D&D helped me realized I was non-binary.  TTRPGs like D&D and others provide a safe space to explore facets of yourself that you might have hidden, or might want to incorporate into your identity and that is so, so valuable. :)

Hey guys, sorry I’ve been silent. Things have been very busy! I did some traveling, got sick, adopted a new lizard, and finished our wedding website (and registry!) All the things! Hoping to start porting palettes again soon, but in the meantime, feel free to check out the wedding website. CX

How many followers and dice do you have? Sorry if you answer these questions often/don’t want to answer them in general. I’m just curious because I look up to you and want to try and build up a blog over time and stuff

It’s no worries!Right now, I’m pushing on 3000 dice. Exact last count was 2757, but I’ve gotten many more since then. As for followers, I’m pushing on 4000. I think the best way to build of a good blog is to follow these tips:

-Find a community you want to serve. Sharing is about service to your subscribers. Treat them with respect, dignity, and kindness.-Find something unique you can offer people. Or if it’s not a unique service, your own unique flare or twist!-Engage! Be a human! This doesn’t mean share every little detail about your life. You’ll burn out quickly if you do and we all deserve privacy and the space to be human. But engage with your community!-Start small! You won’t get thousands or even hundreds of followers overnight. But work up your follower base.-Tags! No matter what platform you are using, use tags so your content can be found in searches! This helps bring in followers who aren’t already connected to followers. That’s all I have to offer! I wish you luck and if you ever get something off the ground, reach out and share with me. I’d love to see your hard work!

tell us about your snakey cleric girl!!!! she sounds wonderful from that description alone lol (i just recently got into dnd and my favourite thing ever is hearing about other people’s characters! also i’m rapidly turning into a dice goblin and it is a problem)

OMG!

So her name is Jetta of the Forest. She is… basically a naga, but is actually a homebrew race called the Reptile clan (the dm I am playing with homebrewed races and a huge fantasy world. It is COOL AS HECK!)

Jetta is a grave cleric who lived in a cave with a fountain in it. When she was imbued with the spirit of the snake, she took on a snake like body from the waist down and black serpentine eyes. Her hair is blonde, braided into many braids with beads and bones strung into it. She wears armor and her most precious possession is her helm, which was given to her by the priestess she studied under.

When she was young, she went to study under the old village priestess, Armina, another snake spirit reptile clan cleric. She learned the art of the grave cleric and helped Armina with the village funerary rites and other high holy days. When Armina died, Jetta took over this role entirely.

It has been a few years since she took on this role and now the people of the animal clans are under attack by the people beyond the walls. Without magic, these humans have advanced weaponry and are kidnapping the people of the clans. She has been called by the high council to cross the wall and investigate these kidnappings along with a team of others.

So, Jetta has found herself a long way from home. She is kind and loving, but also a bit blunt and strange. She makes sure the team eats, tries to take care of their emotional needs, and can act competently both in support and melee roles. That said, she can also say some strange and inappropriate things, since she was not socialized well. Usually, this just comes off as charming to those who know her, but can be offensive to those who don’t.

Dragonborn: An unpopular opinion.

I don’t actually care for Kraken dice’s business model AT ALL. I dislike how they ran their kickstarter. They kept adding and adding to it, making it so unwieldy that is was impossible to deliver the dice promised on time. I also dislike that they keep creating ‘limited edition dice’. It creates DELIBERATE false scarcity that they then upcharge for. It makes their dice inaccessible to those who don’t have money at the time of a new release, or who don’t have fast enough internet. Additionally, they release limited edition dice SO OFTEN that it is impossible to keep up and there is no way to realistically collect all their Kraken only dice.

Like, I think it’s fair to occasionally release different limited edition dice, but when you do so almost weekly, it is too much.

Finally, they’re just commissioning HD dice and the quality is frankly low and I think charging as much as they do for the quality of the dice is also bad.

I will keep buying some limited releases (I am SELECTIVE at this point) because I love their colors, but I think Kraken needs to tone things down for awhile, improve their website’s tagging/search/categorization function, as well as cart system, and then reassess what dice will and won’t be limited and how often those will release.
