Oh man. So I start with collation of resources, experimentation, and then actually beginning the creation process! For dice palettes and color work, I rely a lot on color theory. When given direction with a few shades, I pull in other colors that relate to, or work well with another color. I’ll pull a few options of dice from my collection and lay them all out over and over before being satisfied! When writing? I go with an idea, research it heavily, and just write. Be that writing my next DnD or backstory for a new character, I spend time pulling together all my resources for writing, every book of PDF or page I’ll need, then I write stuff out in one of my DM notebooks or on google docs, depending on where the information needs to be stored! For my other creative endevors (sewing, wig styling, crochet) I have a similar process. I pull together research on what I want to sew/style/crochet, pull together all the resources I’ll need to make said thing, write out a time line to produce said thing, then actually start the creation process. Suffice it to say: I am a researcher and planner by heart!
