Borealis Maple Green
Hey are the borealis smoke dice supposed to have rainbow sparkles? And are the real ones only available on one site? Cause I feel like I got fakes
Hmmm. Well, old ones are more rainbow, but Chessex actually had to switch their glitter production a few years back. Here’s how it boils down:
1. Chessex was using some cool glitter that was VERY rainbow a few years back.
2. EU currency uses that same glitter. It becomes a controlled substance to prevent counterfitting.
3. Chessex has to find new glitter.So pre-EU currency, all the borealis glitter is VERY rainbow and tends to be bigger. Collectors refer to these as OG (old glitter) Borealis. Post-EU, the borealis line becomes the NG (new glitter) Borealis.
The OG colors are especially sought after because delicious illegal glitter, am I right?The New glitter tends towards green in the smoke borealis. You can get them from Ebay, amazon, lots of places. They’re legit, just different. :) If you want to send a pic I can confirm!
HEY GUYS! This is a really cool kickstarter I’ve posted about a few times, but PLEASE click the link and support it. They’ve got something that is very close to the Aquerple borealis in their unlockables, but we’re not close to it yet. The starter has already been funded, though, so you’re guaranteed to get dice if you back it! Just look as some of these pics! The sets are essentially vapor swirled pigments in clear plastic that has been laced with borealis style shimmer. Way pretty and a nice change from the pure pigment swirls we see!

Sorry for all these questions, but out of curiosity, what’s your favorite dice set that you have currently?
No need to be sorry! And, you know, I’ve had this set a long time, but they’re still my favorite. I use them for my favorite character and have got more crits and high rolls with them than any other set I own. They are my smoke borealis set from Chessex.They also have sentimental value. I bought them with one of my best friends when she was starting DnD. She got the pink borealis and I got these. Lovely dice.
At some point last night, in a battle against a god’s avatar, my rogue crit failed both attacks on a two-handed sneak attack. :/
