Hair stylist Luigi Murenu referenced old Helmut Newton photos to create a look he described as, "slightly Germanic, but more modern." After creating tousled waves and parting the hair down the middle, Murenu pinned color-matched braided extensions a few inches back from the hairline to resemble a chic coronet. "It can't be perfect; then it will look too retro," Murenu noted, allowing the models' natural flyaways to complete the look.

Every time I'm tempted to cut my hair short again, I remind myself that I can't do as many cool hair tutorials (like this one I'm rocking today from Cup of Jo) and then I google "Serena Van Der Woodsen" and stare at Blake Lively's flawless mane from her Gossip Girl days. Works every time.

The Rodarte Spring/Summer 2014 show is today, but I was completely enamored with the braided rosettes that models were seen sporting at their Fall/Winter 2013 show, created by hairstylist Odile Gilbert who described the look as "kind of a princess, but with an edge."
So, once again, with the help of my friend Nichole, I recreated the look. All you really need is hairspray, bobby pins and nimble fingers (and if you happen to have perfect, long mermaid hair like Nichole, then bonus points for you). Now if only I had a killer barbed wire headband to top it all off....
I had so much fun recreating the makeup from Dior Spring/Summer 2013 that I decided to try my hand at a few more looks.
This time I asked my friend Nichole to be the model as I copied the flirty '60s-inspired makeup from Anna Sui Fall/Winter 2013 created by Pat McGrath (seen inset on Cara Delevingne).
Decided to try copying the eye makeup from Christian Dior Spring/Summer 2013. Not exactly a conventional, every day sort-of look, but very pretty nonetheless.
