The Buran is like something out of a cool but implausible Cold War sci-fi movie. The Soviet Space Program made a recolor of the N.A.S.A. space shuttle. The cockpit interior looked basically the same as the space shuttle’s, but with more gauges. There were five external fuel tanks, because three external fuel tanks just wasn’t cool enough. The most awesomely ridiculous part is the team of four diesel locomotives that moved it from site to site on special railroad tracks.

I’ve concluded that everything made by the Soviet Space Program looked like something from Doctor Who.
