I really thought Trump’s bid for presidency would be something we’d look back on and laugh, if we remembered it at all.

The odd grammar in the question caused me to read it three times to try to decipher it.  The first two times I misread “Minions” as “Minoans.”  I don’t know why my brain would misinterpret a common word as a rare one.  Maybe because it’s trying to block out all perception of the Minions.
