u have a fundamental misunderstanding of how yarn is made
“Sometimes, I wish there was just…some other way” says the Shepherd as he loads the last of his beloved flock onto the giant conveyer belt.
“Yeah, it’s too bad this stuff doesn’t grow back or anything” says his young assistant, shearing away the remaining tufts of wool.
A single tear streams down the Shepherd’s cheek as the incinerator claims the first of many naked, bleating bodies.
This reminds me of Barnyard Commandos. It's gone now, but at one point the Wikipedia article for this barely-a-franchise said, "The RAMS and PORKS, sheep and pigs, respectively, were all given names based around puns related, more often than not, to things that can be made from the selfsame animals once they've been killed and processed." Most of the R.A.M.S. characters were named after wool products, which do not kill the sheep. Also, some of the P.O.R.K.S. members had non-lethal pun names like "Hogg Wilde" and "Shoat N. Sweet." The "more often than not" qualifier doesn't make it correct either, since only 7 of the 16 characters' names refer to products that kill the animal (unless there were more characters than these sources list).
Not sure why I care so much. Just one of those things I ran across that stuck in my head because it was annoying/amusing.
Vietnamese Mossy Frog

I'm interrupting this blog's monster marathon to show you this frog, due to the fact that said frog looks more monstrous than most of the monsters. If the caption had said it was fabricated for The Dark Crystal I would have believed it.
Flat-headed Leafhopper
Flat-everythinged leafhopper.
Please nobody make a book/comic/cartoon/movie where large vampiric flat-headed leaf-hoppers stalk teenage girls, because that's something I've got going and I'd be really sad if somebody stole my thunder.
I'd also appreciate if you all avoided the subject of vampiric air-breathing mimic octopi. The project is in an early stage of development, and I'm still uncertain which flat camouflaged invertebrate will be sucking blood from schoolgirls.
Thank you.
Now I realize what inspired the krenshar in D&D.

Poecilotheria metallica is a species of tarantula. It reflects brilliant metallic blue color. This whole genus of arboreal tarantulas exhibits an intricate fractal-like pattern on the abdomen. The spider’s natural habitat is primarily SoutheasternIndia and Sri Lanka. P. metallica was first discovered in a town in central southern India called Gooty. Hence, its common name is Gooty Sapphire Ornamental Tree Spider, or simply Gooty Sapphire, or Gooty Tarantula, Metallic Tarantula,Peacock Parachute Spider, Peacock Tarantula, or Salepurgu.
The species is found in a single location, which is severely fragmented. The extent of occurrence is less than 100 km2. India: Andhra Pradesh: Reserve forest between Nandyal and Giddalur. Though the spider was first found in a railway timber yard in Gooty, its true habitat is about 15 miles to the north.

Vampire bats are believed to be the only species of bats in the world to “adopt” another young bat if something happens to the bat’s mother.[10] Vampire bats also share a strong family bond with members of the colony, which is believed to be why they are the only...
I saw a great documentary about vampire bats that talked about how they were loyal, kind, and generous to each other. Really, they'd make better examples of harmony and friendship than ponies.
Horned Frog by Techuser
This looks like one of the characters from that terrible show that was like Lexx with puppets. Does anybody remember what I'm talking about?
