Zuko tells a bedtime story to the kiddos, with plenty of funny voices and theatrics
Zuko is still feeling weird about them remembering. Toph is feeling weird about experiencing a caring parental figure. And trying to come to terms with it being a grumpy teen who is now kind of part of their group. Both of them (but also everyone else) kind of misses how things were.
Question. How does Mai feel about Zuko's kind of being a dad?
I'd imagine she is weirded out at first, but eventually thinks it's sweet. He's a good dad, even when his 'kids' do something stupid.

It's hard taking care of little ones. The frustration, the hunger, knowing that you can't provide for them all by yourself... it's enough to bring even the most bull-headed of princes to tears. All it takes is one extra thing to make him collapse.
I love little Sokka being an ass to Zuko. He's such a lovable little turd and unintentionally makes Zukos life so much harder
"Dad, we want you to meet our... other dad."
By the time they meet up before Day of Black Sun, the group has gone from jokingly calling Zuko 'dad' to kind of actually meaning it. So Sokka needs to explain to his real dad why they are calling a firebender his title.
While Zuko finishes apologizing to the Kyoshi Warriors, Sokka gives a shiny rock to the pretty lady.
It's hard being the responsible adult. But at the end of the day, when all the little brats are safe and asleep around him, it's pretty wonderful.
It's easier to let the kids roam, rather than trying to tell them what to do. Except Toph. She's a little gremlin and needs close observation. ESPECIALLY when an open flame is involved.
Zuko was really hoping they wouldn't remember anything! Unfortunately, that is not the case. They remember every cuddle, every nap time, every feeding, and every comfort Zuko provided.
