Day 3: Parenthood 🎏

Zuko is left to babysit the sick water peasants. He'd rather go rescue the Avatar than be stuck here one more minute.
Do they trust each other? No. Are they willing to put that aside to find out what that scary noise was? Heck yeah.
"We can get you a little blanket or something, jerkbender."
"I don't need anything from you. Leave me alone."
"Ok, but it sure looks awfully cold on the hard ground."
Sokka caves soon after and plops him on his pillow. This leads to discovering that Zuko is a great personal heater.
More of the servant!au. Because they practice fighting with Zuko, Katara gets pretty good at waterbending(done in secret at the palace and done more freely once they're on the ship) and Sokka gets really good at swordfighting and hand-to-hand. Zuko hates that he only wins half the time against his own servants, but also secretly loves having friends he can improve with.
Fanfic idea: When their mom is killed, the Southern Raiders take Katara and Sokka as prizes for the royal family. Zuko is given them as his own personal servants (this is a bad thing, since they don't know anything and aren't going to listen to him) and they end up bonding. Azula makes fun of him for only being able to make friends with servants. They end up being like his personal body guards and protectors, and he is also their protectors from being punished or taken away.

Sunlight in the Southern Water Tribe
Companion piece to Moonlight I kind of like the idea that Zuko and the ZK kids, especially Kya, really love staying in the Southern Water Tribe, particularly in the seasons where the sun hangs in the air all day into the night. Wouldn’t firebenders enjoy that? Must feel really nice n.n It’s funny; I saw a bunch of Zutara people posting Southern Water Tribe Zuko and Katara lately, and I’ve had this drawing on the backburner for a while and I was like… the hive mind! I love all the parallel thinking in this community; it’s so fun XD So I finally finished this with a real quick background after working on the character drawings for far too long. Is what it is. :| But really, thank you to all the Zutara peeps who have made this year bearable (you know who you are n.n); I’m really grateful to all the friends made this year and hope for better times for everyone in the future. Anyway, just some Southern Water Tribe Zutara with progeny for the winter season. Hope everyone is having safe and happy holidays! Please do not repost or use without permission. Thanks!
