i’m trying to figure out my benrey’s alien/unhinged form but i’m not used to drawing eldritch horrors so idk if this is EXACTLY what i had in mind. :/ what i was trying to do was incorporate the HL1 guard model + aspects of half life aliens + the thing i think i remember scorpy saying 1 time that benrey’s “true form” was just a bunch of noises and lights. 

also the context for the pic is that post black mesa, the resonance cascade starts affecting things outside the facility, leading to portals opening up randomly in new mexico that spawn aliens. benry’s fighting a strider from HL2 here.  

thinking about doing benny’s alien/monster form again… i really want to capture that “noises and lights” vibe i’m looking for. making an unknowable light alien glitch beast is so intimidating though. :’)

Benrey is centipede-like in form, their body made of melted together twisted amalgamations of the Half Life 1 guard model’s face with many bony protrusions sticking out of their gaping mouths that act as legs and claws. Tons of Sweet Voice is being emitted from Benrey’s mouths, almost obscuring him. Benrey is fighting the strider and has just violently pinned it down to the ground with their pincer jaws, sending dust and debris flying. The sky is green. There’s an instagram-styled caption across the lower half of the image that says “can’t have shit in rosewell” with the crying emoji beside it.

The second image is just the first image but with a normal gray sky and no Sweet Voice flying around everywhere so you can get a better look at what monster Benrey looks like. :end ID]
