The funniest thing to me is that tumblr wasted two months in a heated war about whether Misfits and Magic 2 was somehow supporting Harry Potter (by openly and categorially critiquing it???) only for Aabria to be like "LOL, there's no wizard school anymore, THAT burned down, you can do magic without wands, anyone can do magic, there's no secret wizard society anymore THAT burned down, this doesn't even take place in England, it takes place in a magical storm in the middle of the ocean with a pissberg and Cannibal Island, and any character still holding on to the old magical world is an idiot and probably gonna be killed by Evan Kelmp"

Like "oh you thought this was still gonna parody HP? Not even remotely. We are going in a different directions, kids, and if you still want an HP land I have BAD news for you"

I love that Aabria described the setting for Lou, Erika and Danielle and then looked across the table at Brennan when it was his turn and basically said, “Go off, white boy”

He’s very good at using setting description as an indicator for his character.

Every time I rewatch A Court of Fey and Flowers (or let's be real, any campaign Aabria Iyengar is in or runs), I had more and more wanted to paint her. So I did. Truly one of my favorite and most inspirational DMs, and a fashion icon to boot.

My sister is apart of this Owl Crate book club subscription and I was inspired by this months book. It reminded me of another famous book.. if I wasn’t editing on my phone I’d turn that sword into an arrow.

there's this phenomenon which i swear i've only seen in response to black women (and cats), where no matter how sweet or affectionate or silly they're being, people will always phrase their actions as imposing and aggressive and even tho it's often treated as praise it's just wrong

i made a post about aabria balancing "get wrecked" energy with "i love you let's goooo!!!" energy and several of the responses are sort of along the lines of "she'll fuck you up" and like. that's not what i SAID. for a while i was reluctant to start burrow's end bc a lot of the posts were commending aabria for enforcing consequences and i knew the genre was leaning towards the tragic, but when i started it, it was aabria being joyful and silly and even the consequences mentioned were not 'enforced' they were just like. natural character moments. i can think of like 4 different times brennan enforced consequences with far more intention to wreck the shit of pcs doing a bit.

and to be clear this isn't a criticism of brennan or anything, i just think it's weird how no one is like wow brennan's hallmark is enforcing consequences but they are like that about aabria who i think is far more likely to just have gleeful LOOK AT WHAT I MADE energy than face the consequences of your actions energy.

I am genuinely in love with this cast and the setting and just everything about it. Every Aabria season infests my mind and this is no different.
