the fact that sp was, for the entire novel, "why him but not me" towards yjh but in the end it was sp who achieved his happy ending with his dokja, with od, while yjh searched the entire fucking universe for his and came back empty handed is so fucking funny to me. like yes the symbolisms metaphors allusions all that stuff. but. its just. so funny. this pathetic loser is the only character who got a happy ending

"The birth of the Reader must be at the cost of the death of the Author."

han sooyoung of the 1863rd round "dying" right after finishing twsa, and kdj, the reader, being "reborn" again and again after that as twsa comes to life. yjh being the author of his own story with how desperate he was to live the perfect round kdj created, developing the avatar skill and one half of him dying. lsy, who wrote a book to save dokja but failed, almost dying. kdj dying, disintegrating into fragments after writing the perfect ending he wanted for twsa. us, the readers being born as a result of his death. the death of the author being a given for the birth of a reader.

we have roland barthes' death of the author as recommended reading this semester and it talks about the relationship between the text, the writer, and the reader. most of my class had to read it multiple times to understand but how do i explain that the only reason i get what barthes is trying to say is yoohankim. like. in my orv era. and brainrot era. both got combined. and now im in my intellectual era.

just something about 13 year old hsy giving up her entire teenage years and most of her 20s just to write a story for one person and one person only. just to give him something to look forward to, to give him something to prevent him from killing himself. something about 1863 hsy deciding she does not want to live in the perfect world she so painstakingly created, but instead going back to the first world to prevent twsa from being written so that the whole tragedy never takes place, only to write that very text herself after seeing kdj attempt suicide. about hsy giving all the 'characters' some similarities to dokja, and writing them as people who were accepted and loved not despite their flaws, but because of them. her telling kdj through the story that it was not his fault, it never was. trying to make him feel all the love and care kimcom had for him. something about sooyoung never once blaming dokja for anything at all. han sooyoung who sacrificed half her life to keep dokja alive. han sooyoung who let the world be destroyed just to keep dokja alive. han sooyoung who was always the first one to act for dokja in kimcom. han sooyoung who chose to play the role of the 'bad person' in order to let dokja move ahead in the scenarios as he planned. han sooyoung who cared so much for kdj she was ready to go on a never ending journey across worlds for him. han sooyoung who wrote orv just to make all the oldest dreams dream of an alive, healthy, happy kim dokja. han sooyoung who wrote not one, but two stories only for dokja. han sooyoung who wrote a 3149 chapters novel which was bad by her standards only to give dokja a reason to live. han sooyoung who so desperately wanted dokja to be happy, there was nothing else she could do but do what she does best, write. han sooyoung who loved kim dokja as a writer loving their reader, but also so much more. just, something about han sooyoung and everything she did for kdj.
