Eli doesn't believe you, but the anxiety over the interaction still becomes too much very quickly. Within a day of Cohen arriving home again, he tells him about what happened in search of reassurance and clarification.

Despite the new security measures put in place to stop people from breaking in again, you succeed. He is whipped over and over again for what feels like hours, leaving angry scars on his back and blood oozing from them. He cries, begging you to show him some mercy. He didn't know he'd get into trouble.

Cohen can see what's happened to him, but Eli still refuses to explain. He's too scared. Eventually, however, he breaks down and tells him everything.

That night, Cohen leaves to hunt you down.

Eli, definitely. Most commonly, he strokes his own cheek and nuzzles into it like it's the hand of someone else.

Carlos rocks back and forth a lot, but at some point he starts mumbling positive affirmations to himself. Things like "you're okay" and "you're safe", things that he most appreciates hearing from someone else.

Ollie and Coco both self-soothe. Ollie would do the stroking his own cheek thing as well, while Coco hums to itself.

He is quiet, but you can see the glower on his face as you tighten everything to keep him still. For a moment he subtly tries to test the durability of every knot, but it's clear that he's not going anywhere.

The burns hurt. They hurt a lot, and it takes a lot of self restraint to stop himself from yelling. When you finally step away from him, his mouth is bleeding a little from his own teeth and he's panting.

Still, the glare remains a prominent fixture on his face.

He fumes. "Shut the fuck up."

They would! Depending on the circumstances, it might take them a while. They'd be quick to trauma bond in captivity, but if they met while they were both recovering, Eli would be far more resistant to forming a friendship.

Eli does not dare ask, though it's clear by the look on his face that it's all he can think about. He does not understand why you took his clothes and left Cohen with his. It's not fair.

It takes him a while, but Cohen eventually shrugs off his shirt and gives it to him. It's oversized and allows him to put a layer between his bare ass and the freezing floor, along with tucking his knees inside the shirt, as well. Cohen does not even scold him for stretching it.

i mean, it depends on the reason. cohen fucking hates sharing his things but if eli ran out of his own clothes or for whatever reason really needed to borrow his shirt, he'd begrudgingly give in.

as time goes on and they get more comfortable with each other, cohen gets more lenient with what he allows eli to borrow from him. so if you're referring to just casual "because he wants to" wearing his stuff, not right now but eventually.

Eli hugs you back tensely, eventually sniffling into your shoulder. He appreciates your words immensely.

Eli is terrified by this, immediately running to get Cohen. He can't help but wonder if Lucas' friends found him, or perhaps one of his old clients.

Cohen yanks the knife out of the door and and crumbles the piece of paper up, promising that nothing will happen to him while he's around. He doesn't tell Eli, but his next job is purposely delayed until he's sure it's safe enough for him to go.

Eli whimpers repeatedly, squeezing his eyes shut as your hand makes contact with his skin. It is most certainly not the worst thing he's ever had to go through, but that does not mean it doesn't hurt. With difficulty, he manages to get to ten without messing up, and tearily looks up at you when you start speaking to him in a sweet voice.

"Do-on't wanna do it again," he weeps, not even moving from where he's laying. "Please, I'll be good. No mo-ore."

Eli glares bitterly at you. "No. There were moments where I hoped I'd die, but that's all they were. Hopes."

Eli accepts both, still extremely wary of you. He hides inside his blanket and holds his cup close to his chest. It's been forever since he got to have hot chocolate, and it surrounds him with a sad sense of nostalgia. His mum, his childhood, his hometown. Everything he's lost.

After some time, he sets the half-finished cup on the table and curls up some more, eyes suddenly feeling wet.

Eli hesitates for a moment before lifting his shoulders in a small shrug. "Probably not. I'd- I'd want to, I guess, but I also think I'm a big enough coward that I'd probably just..." He purposely trails off before he can finish his sentence. "So, uh, yeah."
