Viktor
This is mostly fanon!batfam but I desperately want to read fics where Tim and Bruce have a complex relationship. Not complicated, complex. (Okay maybe a little complicated).
But what I mean is that essentially, Tim had to step up to a role parallel to a caretaker with Bruce, at least at the beginning of their relationship, and this would obviously stand to reflect on the dynamic they build later on. I don't want a complicated relationship between Tim and Bruce where Bruce essentially views Tim as a stand-in to Jason in the beginning or whatever. No, that's overdone and angsty and I don't particularly like it. I want a complex relationship, of essentially power dynamics, between Bruce and Tim because the entire reason Tim barged in on Bruce was due to the fact that his self destructive ways were bleeding into Batman, and he couldn't allow that. There's gotta be times Tim stepped in, and told Bruce no. There's gotta be times where he's pointed at a direction, and said, this way, instead. This was Tim taking care of a grownup who was in the depths of depression and self-destruction. This is essentially a 12 year old who was thrust into a caretaker role, but with a man who wasn't even his parent, who was essentially a stranger to him. There's gotta be times where Bruce would, I wouldn't go as far as to say deferred to him, but at least listened to him. And he wasn't Tim's father at the beginning. He wasn't Tim's anyone. There wasn't a previous relationship to build on between the two of them when Tim first became Robin.
So what I'm saying is, Bruce is Tim's father. But Tim's first relationship with him wasn't father or mentor or partner. Tim's first relationship with Bruce was of one where he was a dependent, to Tim, and that's gotta have some holdover on the relationship they have later on.
insane face card
good god this show,,,,,,
So I started watching Arcane and Viktor stole my heart
Thinking about all the jayvik Jayce pov fics where Viktor’s changed so much that Jayce can barely recognise him, and then he takes his mask off and his eyes, at least, are still the same as he remembers
I am inconsolable
bro gay ppl cannot break up normally
blinding
Everything between Jayce and Viktor can really be traced back to their childhood inciting incidents and it’s killing me.
Jayce: a miracle saves him and his mom, forever imprinting him with the certainty that miracles do exist, they can be controlled, he can save his loved ones no matter how awful things get, if he can just be smart and bold and quick enough.
Viktor: he saw the horror of what Singed had done—of forcing a creature to live against its will, of the degradation and terror of being fundamentally changed. For a while he thought he understood Singed, when he decided that he was willing to throw away all his principles to survive his own body. But he didn’t, really. He didn’t understand. There was still a line he would not cross. He wanted to die human.
It’s fitting, then, and unspeakably tragic, that Jayce is the one who played Singed’s role in the end. Because you can’t ask Jayce to let a loved one go, when he knows there’s a miracle that can save him, the solution is right there, it will work if you will just let him try—and so he forces a change onto Viktor against his will. He traps him into the Arcane, takes apart and reassembles his body, strips him of his selfhood and humanity. All so that Viktor will live. Singed wasn’t talking about the desperation not to die—he was talking about the desperation not to lose someone you love.
And so Viktor is…changed. He lives, whether he wants to or not.
And so Jayce loses him anyway.
"The Hermit stands alone on the top of a mountain. The snow-capped range symbolizes his spiritual mastery, growth, and accomplishment. He has chosen this path of self-discovery and, as a result, has reached a heightened state of awareness."
i just think he's pretty
“Jayce will understand”
The tragedy is: Jayce did, in fact, understand.
Viktor just lost himself to the hexcore in the process.
something about vi never wanting anyone in her life to change. something about jayce not caring at all how much viktor has changed so long as he's alive. something about the way vi associates radical change with death, perceiving jinx's continued existence as a kind of necromantic horror—the way jayce would shatter fundamental laws of nature without a second thought in order to give viktor the best chance at survival, in whatever form that may take. transformation as rebirth vs murder, hextech vs shimmer. nature has made us intolerant to change, but fortunately, we have the capacity to change our nature. and then jayce, realizing that he hasn't changed at all, not really—that he is a scientist at heart, and he shouldn't have tried to be anything else. and then vi, realizing she has become someone unrecognizable—never thought my sister would turn bluebelly. and for both of them, it's too little, too late.
oh their fights gonna be nastyyy
viktor arcane has to be one of the characters ever.
he's gay. he's terminally ill. he's suicidal. he's from league of legends. he's in a toxic relationship with an orb. he also might be the orb(???). he bullshitted his way into the academy by pretending he went there. he rizzed up a guy so he wouldn't kill himself. he then tried to impress said guy by breaking into his boss's lab. then when he got caught he tried to play it off by saying he thought this big intimidating door was his bedroom door and he was just trying to sneak a guy in there. he nearly died because hetero sex was happening like a mile away. kinda. he took illegal drugs. he's also the apprentice of the guy who's making the illegal drugs and never mentions it. he's inspired off of the tale of frankenstein's monster. he got shot by a missle and fucking died. when he came back to life he immediately broke up his messy gay situationship and became jesus fucking christ.
truly one of the characters of all time
don't mind me while i become an arcane blog for the foreseeable future
