Welcome

Welcome to 4dkelly's world. You may call me 4dkelly or Kelly. @4dbarbie-archive and @ndjournal are my side blogs and I keep most of my reblogs @4dkellyreblogs. Most of my understanding of non-duality is from 4dbarbie (Ada), Lester Levenson, Nisargadatta Maharaj, Robert Adams and my own experiences as Self! I would say my primary teachers are Lester and Robert so a lot of the excerpts and quotes I share now are from them ❤️ I made an AI chatbot with Lester's teachings. If you want to ask it a question, see this post.

Everything that I share on this blog are intended to be pointers, suggestions and helpful tips for people on the same journey. If you resonate with it, feel free to explore it further and if it doesn't, you can disregard it :)

Note: I'm taking a break from Tumblr for an undecided amount of time. I feel like it's the right time to step away for now. Maybe (or maybe not) I'll pop back in in a few months and answer if there's any asks/submissions @askailester or @ndjournal. Take care everyone and don't forget that You are your best guide on this path. You don't need to take anything that doesn't resonate. Keep living your truth! ❤️

That Stubborn or Chronic Claim

"I KNOW, but this is a chronic or stubborn case, and it doesn't seem to yield. What can I do?" Once the river flowed free and easy over its rocky bed, but one morning the temperature of the water dropped a dozen degrees or so, and continued dropping all day until the next night found a thin coating of ice under which the water passed. Accepting the best of it, the river flowed on under the thin coat of ice, but that night the coat thickened, crowding the activities of the river further down and gradually consuming it entirely until at last it was a frozen mass. "Oh dear" sighed the river, as it tried to move and couldn't "was it ever possible that I was free and could move—and will that day ever come again?" A south wind passed by and said, "If the sun would shine on you it would help you." And the next day the sun did shine on the river. The river was glad and full of expectations. "Now I shall flow again and be free." But after shining hard all day, nothing happened, and that evening the river was very despondent. But the sun, who had more persistence than the river, came back the next day and shined again all day-but nothing happened; and so this little drama went on day after day until the river was very discouraged, and almost knew that he would never be free again. But the sun kept on shining and one day the river felt a little loosening, it couldn't tell just what, but that night it was solid again and the river lost heart. But when the sun came the next day it loosened again a little and that night froze again. "How disgusting," said the river. "Every bit of gain I make, I immediately lose." But the sun kept shining and at last, the gain made was permanent, and finally the ice broke up into great chunks and floated away so swiftly that the river was all aquiver. How easily it had all departed. So with the obstinate or chronic case. The first day's treatment may not melt the ice, nor the second day's, nor the third, and at night (in doubt or anxiety) it may freeze up again, but when faithfully followed and the sunlight of love is applied untiringly the change takes place. "Judge not from appearances." Neither the first nor the last day's sun melted the river—it took them both and all the days in between to overcome the condition which had been growing and intensifying for months or years. It took seven times around the Walls of Jericho to reduce them to dust, and who will say which was the most effective trip, the first or the last?  Spiritually, man is already free, and if he can get this established in his mind firmly and hold to it regardless of appearances, finally it will become "flesh" and dwell with him.

In the end, we will awaken from the Dream of Life, knowing that everyone eventually will do it; but while we are in this world, we can modify the dream. If I know I’m dreaming, I can change it. So, someone comes into my world, and he’s unemployed, yet he needs money; he has a family to support. He needs money to buy all the things that a family needs; and I’m dreaming that. Well, I’ll change that dream! I will see him as gainfully employed and happy in his family, and everything is as it ought to be. So, I changed the script. I have the power to change it, and he conforms to my change, and he works. - Neville Goddard

If you ever feel powerless to your circumstances and end up spiraling, remind yourself that if you created all this, then logically it follows that you MUST have the power to change it as well and bring forth a different experience. That is the great thing about taking responsibility for your consciousness. The deeper you go within and reflect, the deeper the realization that everything really is a result of your own consciousness and not a result of random chance. Just be patient and kind to yourself and remember not to compare your experiences to others. Everything will be okay.

Be Not Discouraged

If you were working on a mathematical problem and came to the end of your process only to find you had made an error, you would know at once that you had not applied the principle correctly. You would not even so much as vaguely think the principle to be wrong. You would start over to solve the matter from the premise that the principle was absolutely correct, always has been and always will be, and that the problem could be worked out with ease when the principle was thoroughly understood. When you fail to make a demonstration of Truth, what do you oftentimes say? "Well I have tried and tried and been faithful, and for some reason or other, my problem does not work out." You are so busy with the problem itself that you have little or no time to go to the Principle, which you must abide by, and study it more closely and become more conversant with it. You spend all your time with the unsolved problem, hoping against hope that, after all, you can get through somehow. In mathematics, you simply set aside the wrong results which were obtained through misapplication of the principle and go to work at the beginning again. Or if you are not sure about some line of work, you go to the principle of the thing and refresh yourself, then start out with the positive knowledge that if you apply the principle correctly, the answer follows without question. If this is true in mathematics, it is infinitely more true in metaphysics. If it is true in solving the problems about material existence, it is infinitely true in solving the riddle of human life. Note this one thing: until you are thoroughly convinced that you are working to demonstrate an absolute Principle that is always perfect and infallible, you are likely to whine around over unsolved problems, spending most of the time in failure, instead of going to the fountainhead and increasing your understanding of the principle. Learn this: effect is not to be considered at all; seek only the causative side of existence. If a man offered you a loaf of bread or handful of wheat, your human sense would seize the loaf of bread, but your wisdom would take the seed. Why? Because the loaf of bread, while it would more quickly satisfy human craving, would soon be gone. But the seed is the substance of increase and would grow into unlimited possibilities, for there is no end to the result of one seed if properly planted. In a short time, the result of one seed could make a girdle of flowers or wheat around the entire world. You know all this - it is merely brought to your remembrance with admonition to "get understanding" and stop trying to gain material things. Once you have an understanding for the infinitude of substance, the material effect takes care of itself quite naturally. The harvest is plentiful; you can make it into flour and bread at will, or you can plant it again and increase the substance. Keep your thoughts away from the seeming material existence and let them dwell in the kingdom of Reality. Remember that you are not controlled by the human being side of your nature, but the God-being side which is the Soul, which is the Spirit that is one with the Father within and is a majority because of Its singleness. When a man begins to work on the inner side of his life, truly "the fields are white" with grain. A thousand ways open to him. Opportunity is not an evasive something but a sure thing, coming as often as man is ready to claim it. Form the habit of first acknowledging the principle you are working with as absolutely above change and as infallible. This is your premise, so whenever you fail to work out a problem, do not give a moment's consideration to the failure. The only thing that is wrong is your application of the principle, so go quickly to this principle; seek a better understanding of it and find out what you missed in your application and then work your problem out anew.

When your mind feels completely stuck or trapped in a cycle, you could ask yourself 'Can I allow myself to see it in another way?' without forcing any particular change in thought. Just asking that open-ended question allows you to take a step back and it softens the charge, it takes you back to neutral ground. Suddenly you are reminded that it can be seen in a different way, it doesn't have to be the same way you had always thought of it, thinking it was something fixed. You're reminded that you have a choice, in fact you always have a choice in how you see something and you can choose to see it how you want. Remind yourself of that freedom and allow it to be.

Begin with just today

Some are discouraged because they cannot change the conditions at once. They forget that they have sowed and harvested for years crops of error. They expect to come to the field and sprinkle wheat over it and see an immediate fruitage: forgetting for the moment that that very field has been thickly sown with tares. But the true overcomer recognizes that the law which he is now putting into operation for good is the very one that he has been distorting and using to produce evil, and that the weeding process must now begin, and the constant planting of good thoughts, good deeds and words. This is all a glorious work to the overcomer, no matter how great the problem before him, he moves towards it, and as he does he finds plenty of proof that he is gaining each day, until he at last finds that the steep hill over which he had to go, has diminished and faded away and that after all, it was made up of countless little steps which when taken day after day, finally brought him to the height of attainment without ever tackling the thing as a whole. “Oh, ye of little faith,” why will we go on, failing to do the little things, for of them the big things are made. If we are to move a mountain we must begin by taking away some small portion of it. Every grain of dust has to be moved before the whole mountain will be put away, and it is the realizing of this that makes the work worthwhile. We can begin just where this finds us, and take away the obstacles which confront us today, perhaps this is the tendency to think discouraging thoughts about the possible outcome, maybe it is a mental laziness, or maybe it is a feeling that “My problem is greater than yours,” but anyway whatever it is, it is just a little grain of dust which must be moved away today, so that tomorrow more debris can be removed, and at last by daily cleansing and putting away, we will find the mountain has been entirely moved and that we have attained the heights of demonstration.

Keep Quiet and Watch

The problem is excessive interest, leading to self-identification. Whatever you are engrossed in you take to be real. Just see the person you imagine yourself to be as a part of the world you perceive within your mind and look at the mind from the outside, for you are not the mind. After all, your only problem is the eager self-identification with whatever you perceive. Give up this habit, remember that you are not what you perceive, use your power of alert aloofness. See yourself in all that lives and your behaviour will express your vision. You have to learn to think and feel on these lines, or you will remain indefinitely on the personal level of desire and fear, gaining and losing, growing and decaying. A personal problem cannot be solved on its own level. Keep very quiet and watch what comes to the surface of the mind. Reject the known, welcome the so far unknown and reject it in its turn. Thus you come to a state in which there is no knowledge, only being, in which being itself is knowledge. To know by being is direct knowledge. It is based on the identity of the seer and the seen. Indirect knowledge is based on sensation and memory, on proximity of the perceiver and his percept, confined with the contrast between the two. The same with happiness. Usually you have to be sad to know gladness and glad to know sadness. True happiness is uncaused and this cannot disappear from lack of stimulation. It is not the opposite of sorrow, it includes all sorrow and suffering.

One way to deal with those difficult, intrusive or scary thoughts that are hard to ignore is to see it transformed in your mind into something totally neutral. You can have a designated image or symbol for this, it just has to be something you see, think and feel completely neutral about. For example.. a random food item on a menu, or a cloud in the sky. So when an intrusive thought comes up in your mind, pause for a moment in stillness, then give that thought a shape/form/colour and see it transformed into your designated neutral image/symbol. Now all of a sudden, it's not scary at all! You can spend some time just observing this neutral thought if you want. Just think "oh, it's just a cloud.. it's just a burger" and notice how you feel no particular way when you look at it. Then let go of that now neutralised thought and allow it to simply fade away. If you keep doing this, the same thoughts you once found to be scary will eventually be completely neutral thoughts you find no reality or meaning in and it's like 'oh whatever, moving on'. You won't even need to neutralise them with this exercise anymore.

Lester Levenson's self-realisation story

This is the more detailed version of Lester Levenson's story of releasing thoughts & feelings to self-realization that should have been in his autobiography (you can read the more condensed version from the book here). It is a much more detailed account of Lester's process and journey to self-realization in the three months, a very short version was included in this post on why clear the subconscious mind to realise Self.

Reading this was enlightening to me - perhaps it will spark some resonance in you for your own path and practice :)

(I didn't include the parts before this excerpt where he just started self-inquiry after his health issue, the excerpt below starts from when things really progressed for Lester)

In the morning, he woke very early feeling rested and refreshed. His first thought was, "Well, then, what is happiness?" He laughed at his tenacity as he rolled out of bed and into the shower. Preparing breakfast, his thoughts continued to explore the question which dominated his mind. Well, then, what is happiness? What is the common denominator in all these moments? There was Sy, there was Milton, then June, and his Nettie... What was the common denominator? Somehow he knew it was tied up with love, but he could not, at first, see how. When it finally came, it was so simple and pure and complete an answer that he wondered why he had never seen it before.

"Happiness is when I am loving!" He realized that in every instance, his feeling of love for the other person had been intense and that's where the happiness had come from, from his own feeling of loving. It was so clear to him now that being loved was not the answer. He could see that even if people loved him, unless he felt love in return, he was not going to be happy. Their loving might make them happy, but it would not, could not, make him happy. It was a new and mind-boggling concept and even though he instinctively knew that it was correct, his old scientific training didn't allow him to accept it without testing. So he looked into his past, remembering those times in his life when he had been loving and happy, and he recognized that at those times, the other person had not necessarily been loving him.

How To Stay Trapped

This is not from my own conversations with ChatGPT but someone else's that I saw on IG and thought it was so good that I had to share it here. Except it being Satan, it's you thinking you're ego.. The comments were saying 'that's society' and 'that's life' but no, it's you buying into the mind's beliefs, own it! Take responsibility so you can actually do something about it. I wanted to highlight most of the text. It can also be used as a progress check of sorts, to check in with yourself and see where you can let go of more ego concepts and identification (healing is essentially this too).

Question: If you were Satan and you wanted to stop a young woman from meeting her potential and fulfilling her life's purpose, how would you do it?

Answer: If I were Satan and wanted to stop a young woman from meeting her potential and fulfilling her life's purpose, I would target her mind, emotions, and surroundings to create a sense of self-doubt, confusion and discouragement. My goal would be to keep her stuck, distracted, and disconnected from her true path. Here's how I'd do it:

  1. Undermine Her Self-Worth: I'd plant seeds of insecurity, making her constantly question her value. She'd focus on her perceived flaws and weaknesses rather than her strengths and potential. By keeping her self-esteem low, she would struggle to believe she deserves success or happiness.
  2. Create Toxic Relationships: I'd encourage her to surround herself with negative, toxic, or manipulative people who drain her energy, undermine her dreams, and discourage her from growing. Whether through unhealthy friendships, romantic relationships, or even family dynamics, these people would keep her from focusing on her goals
  3. Fuel the Fear of Failure: I'd amplify her fear of failure, making her terrified of taking risks or trying new things. She'd stay in her comfort zone, avoiding the challenges that would lead to growth. The fear of embarrassment or rejection would keep her from pursuing her purpose.
  4. Distract Her with Superficial Goals: I'd shift her focus away from her true calling by making her prioritize materialism, popularity, or external validation. She would chase after short-term rewards-money, status, appearance - while neglecting her inner development and long-term purpose.
  5. Instill a Victim Mentality: I'd encourage her to feel like life is happening to her rather than for her. By convincing her that she's powerless in the face of her circumstances, I'd keep her from taking control of her destiny. She'd blame external factors instead of seeing the power she has within herself to change her life.
  6. Create Constant Comparisons: I'd ensure that she constantly compares herself to others, feeling inferior or jealous of their achievements. Social media would become a tool for self-criticism, where she believes everyone else is doing better than her. This would sap her motivation and make her feel like she's never enough
  7. Promote Perfectionism: I'd make her believe that anything less than perfect isn't worth doing. She'd become paralyzed by the idea that she has to be flawless in every aspect of her life-whether it's her career, relationships, or appearance-leading to procrastination and stagnation
  8. Discourage Emotional Healing: I'd make her avoid addressing her emotional wounds or past trauma convincing her that healing is unnecessary or too painful. By keeping her unhealed, I'd ensure that old wounds and unresolved pain continue to hold her back and sabotage her future relationships and decisions.
  9. Foster Burnout and Overwhelm: I'd encourage her to take on too many responsibilities, causing her to spread herself thin and eventually burn out. By overwhelming her with stress, I'd keep her from focusing on her true purpose or making meaningful progress in any one area
  10. Normalize Settling for Less: I'd convince her that it's easier and safer to settle for mediocrity, whether in her career, relationships, or personal growth. She'd believe that pursuing her dreams is too risky or unrealistic, so she'd settle for a life of comfort and conformity rather than pushing toward her potential.
  11. Fuel lmposter Syndrome: I'd make her feel like a fraud whenever she achieves success, convincing her that she doesn't really deserve it. No matter how much progress she makes, she'd always feel like she's faking it and fear being "found out," which would hold her back from fully stepping into her power.
  12. Block Her Connection to Intuition or Faith: I'd weaken her connection to her inner wisdom, intuition, or any spiritual guidance she might rely on. By creating doubt in her own instincts or in a higher purpose, I'd keep her disconnected from the inner clarity she needs to make aligned decisions

Through these tactics, I'd aim to keep her in a cycle of self-sabotage, fear, and confusion, making it incredibly difficult for her to rise to her potential and fulfill her life's purpose.

hmm?

I'm reading the past journals from anons atm and one story changed. I remember reading it before (last year?) and at the end, she basically describes how her and her boyfriend ended up making out on the kitchen bench and I thought it was TMI to share, like bleh no thanksss, didn't need to know that. And now the ending has changed to it being just a first date and the guy basically cooking them food then leaving, essentially a PG ending 😂 When stuff like that changes, it feels like the "old" never really happened and it's just an error in thinking. What is "reality" lol
