one of the saddest and most underrated moments in star wars is when luke is dragging his father’s body and all of the people who had been working for vader are fleeing and not giving a fuck about the man they used to serve except luke would not abandon him even after all the shit he did he still loves his father when no one else in the galaxy does and that fucking kills me

okay but like imagine for a second that instead of ben being sent away to train with luke. the whole creepy snoke voice in his head thing comes out and han/leia decide the best place to hide ben is on kashyyyk with the wookies
(because life debt + magical force trees + idk plot it works and he is hidden)
and so like ben grows up to be pretty well adjusted with family visiting from time to time and some minor force training but mostly just working to be like a good member of his clan and it’s all happy and shit
and like he’s tiny by wookie standards and probably ugly too since he’s bald but he’s really good with languages thanks to the force so ben becomes the translator for dealing with off worlders
and years later - enter hux - on a mission from supreme leader or even just his ship crashes and he’s captured by wookies cause they don’t take well to imperials/the first order
ofc hux doesn’t understand them so is ben is brought to translate and Hux is hit with an “okay damn apparently I am attracted to half feral jungle brats” which ben feels cause the force and all
and anyways the moral is this all cumulates in lumpawaroo (chewies son) being this “this is my cousin ben, he is very bald and ugly and does not hunt well, but he is smart and would make you a good mate” meanwhile ben is like “ffs i cannot translate that”
there is not a single reason to hate finn bye
