As you marched down the corridors of the Red Keep, you did not even attempt to stop your eyes from straying over to the Prince.
He, followed by members of your household and a few guards, was escorting you to what would become your chambers within the castle.
As you walked, you took in the sight of the man that might one day become your husband and found that you did not mind the thought.
His eagerness to show you where you would be staying had been unexpected, but endearing, especially since he had all but volunteered to do it.
You could only suppose your possible intended was just as curious about you as you were of him.
Upon reaching a specific door, the Prince walked in and stepped to the side in order to allow you and your party entrance.
“You will reside here, my Lady.”
While looking around the room, you distractedly responded,
With a twinge of confusion, the Prince said,
Turning back toward him with a smile on your face, you explained,
“My title. It is ‘Princess’. My mother currently rules as Queen and I am next in line.”
His raised brows betrayed his surprise at your answer before he inquiringly replied,
“Shall I inform my brother that you and your mother are trying to usurp his rule?”
But since there was a teasing quality to his voice and eyes, you simply let out a laugh as you said,
“I do not see why you would. He rules over seven kingdoms,” Raising a brow of your own, you finished by saying, “We are not one of them.”
Giving a small grin at your witty response, the Prince’s curiosity for you only continued to grow.
After all, it was not every day someone from an extinct civilization showed up at court.
As members of your staff moved about the room unpacking your belongings, Daemon noticed your glance toward the window as you said in thought,
“It might be best if I went outside for a moment…”
Since your reason for wanting to do so was unknown to the Prince, he asked,
“Why do you need to do such a thing?”
Moving past him and to the open door, you turned around and walked backward as you said with a smirk,
“Someone has to corral the ‘Great Beast’.”
And turned back around in order to continue walking.
