I would like to make a plea to pot-smokers, on behalf of those of us who are not:
I don't care if you're choosing to smoke. You're an adult, you can make your own decisions. But please mind where you smoke, and how much of it will cling to you afterward.
I ask this because for over a week I've been waking up with a sore, inflamed nose, and every sneeze has produced blood. It got a bit better over the weekend, and then I tanked again.
....and today, when it was so bad I had to call off work, it hit me: several of my coworkers toke up on break and they do it right outside the loading door. I can smell it sometimes for hours afterward, slowly fading away but taking its sweet time doing so. And last night, when it got so bad I actually had a nosebleed at work? I'd noticed the smell was particularly strong, and lingered longer than usual. I actually had the thought "huh, somebody got the good kush" when I first noticed it. And when I said it got a bit better over the weekend? I work Mondays through Thursdays. It eased up when I wasn't around the smoke.
It wasn't bothering me during monsoon season, but now that the humidity's down, I'm pretty sure what I'm seeing is tissue irritation from something I'm not even smoking. I'm doing a nasal rinse tonight and I'll be wearing a KN95 to work tomorrow to see if that helps, but if not, I'm going to have to figure out how to explain to them "I don't care that you smoke, I care that where you smoke is having an adverse effect on me, please move."
Please mind your smoke.
