Phil's lore is killing me. His mind being messed with and not knowing what's real or not because of the federation... or his own emotional distress (it's totally the federation but let me have that what if lol). It's wonderfully tragic either way. Because to me hc!/c!/q!Phil are the same person. It's all just him to me. And it makes it so interesting to sit and look at this with that lens.

Because Phil is a man with a failing memory and has been for a long time. He's functionally immortal, but his body wasn't meant to be.
