(LONG AF) Can we talk about this gif ??? Because Allen looks like so damn tired ??? I’ve been thinking about this and I think by this point in the manga (from my point of view) Allen is not even wearing that mask he wore when he just arrived because he’s just so tired of wearing it, and he’s tired of wearing it because he’s tired of always losing the most important things for him.

He lost Mana, and Mana was his everything but okay, he kept the good memories with him and moved on. When he arrived the Order he never let go of that mask, he never showed how tired he was (Lena even noticed and got angry) because Allen wasn’t hoping for anything, he was just moving on like he was said, he just expected a new beginning but oh boy he found more; a family, and he doesn’t feel happy (because I never believed Allen actually thought he deserved it) but he feels…peaceful, and he would do everything for them.

And going back, by this point I think he’s realising that everything he worked for, is crumbling down. That’s why he’s tired, because whenever he founds something worth fighting for, it always ends being taken away from him. The people he trusted are suddenly doubting of him, the place he called home feels like a cage now and the freedom he thought he had is now filled of distrust. And to put it worse, what was his happiness is what is bringing all of this. Those memories with Mana are now being questioned, and all this facts about the 14th, about Neah, were thrown at Allen all of a sudden, but he never asked for that, he was fine keeping those happy memories for himself just the way they were. But after this he doubts…was it all fake? Was Mana just using him? Who was really Mana? Who is he?

So he’s tired of giving his best and even then everything ending for him, he’s tired of people doubting him, and he’s tired of being forced to go back to a time he doesn’t want to go back. He thought he had finally found his “place” but then “you’re the 14th” not Allen, “Neah” not Allen, the only thing he was sure of by that point suddenly vanishes. He just wants a home and he’s tired because now (after all he did) he won’t ever have it.

He is tired. Yet despite all this he still refuses to give up. He believes that his path was not decided by someone else, that regardless of what happened, all he worked for, all he had - it was his, even if for a moment. (It took him a while to realise it, but he got there) He made a promise to Mana by his own will and he still wants to keep it- to never stop, to keep walking. He’s now reached a point in the story where he’s realised that whether Mana used him or not, whether Mana loved him or not - he loved Mana, he still loves Mana and that is the truth that nobody can take away from him. That to him is enough. And being the pure child he is, he will risk his own life (yet again) to try and understand Nea rather than simply try to fight and defeat him. What Allen is showing us is that it takes a lot more strength to be compassionate and have humility than to be a ‘strong, brave hero who defeats all evil’. To me he’s stronger and braver than most characters out there.

That’s what is so beautiful about Allen to be honest. Even after all he’s been through and all he’s heard his love for Mana never died if anything it just grew tangled with a wish to know more. I just love how he gives his everything to anything and anyone, no matter who it is if they need help Allen helps. And even if a lot of people have turned their back on him he still cares for them, Kanda is just a big example of this, he called Allen a Noah and blamed him for everything, yet Allen was just thinking of him and Alma and basically gave his freedom to them and he never said anything about where they went, he kept his promise even when he knew what he was getting for that. I just find amazing how Allen holds no grudges against anyone. I mean, even with Cross who gave him a hard childhood, not even against him, or the akumas that have done a lot to him. Allen is just an amazing character.
