Pliskin Press is my shop/print house label I started to, in the words of Hank Hill, sell Metal Gears and Metal Gear Accessories. It’s the name I publish zines and anthologies under, as well as my own limited line of MGS themed merch including pins, buttons and extremely niche vaporwave MGS shirts. 

“Metal Gear Solid: Legends” was the first zine I organized. The idea was taking the characters and concepts from the games and looking at them through the lense of other types of legends from fiction. It was a smaller scale project, but a fun one that I remember fondly. Paper copies are available in my storenvy (which is currently on hiatus due to covid) but digital copies can be found on Gumroad HERE

There are digital copies of “Let the World Be” currently available on Gumroad (as this is a reprint for people who wanted a physical copy) and there will be digital copies of Lost Years available for purchase at a later date as well, but it will be after the physical copies are printed and shipped. Ooh. Not currently. If there was enough call for a reprint I might consider it? I would need to get firm numbers and payment upfront before ordering, like a formal preorder with a set minimum?

At the moment I’m focusing on the “Lost Years” anthology, so unless I got a sudden inflx of people commiting to purchasing a Let the World Be reprint I’d have to put the idea on the backburner. You aren’t the first person to ask though, so maybe there are some fans out there who just missed out? I’m not too sure, haha.

waves: is there one music genre you can’t listen to?

There are a few, and I guess I’d put them in the “makes the car windows shake” categories. I typically use music to help me chill out or focus. If I’m listening to music while I work it either needs to have little or no lyrical content (Daft Punk etc is ok). But unfortunately stuff like most Metal/Rap/Dubstep/IDK where the recommended listening volume is 12 makes my body shake and chest hurt in a really unpleasant way. It has nothing to do with the actual content of the music, just the percussion/vibrations.

One of my dogs is typically very aloof. She will come over for a quick pat when I come home and give me a playful shove but she’d much rather play ball than snuggle and she doesn’t ever give me puppy kisses on the face. Yesterday I came home after a rough morning and she made me sit with her on the step and gave me like a dozen big wet smooches on the face. I like to think she was trying to cheer me up. I literally texted my husband right then to tell him, “Vivi just kissed me more in the last two minutes than she has all year.”

pink eyeshadow: pasta or pizza?

This is really rough! I definitely eat pizza more often, but I like to cook pasta a lot??? There are some really amazing pizza joints in town though. Let’s say, pasta at home and pizza in a restaurant.
