i really do think you all need to just spend more time exposed to total normie lesbians because they’re really proof that half of the navel gazing bullshit that people put themselves through with academic gender theory is being done better by random butch women on facebook. i saw a woman who owns a bar in buffalo make a post yesterday that was like “i know a lot of men want to turn a stud..they think its their victory to make her straight. but they never consider, that the stud is turning them gay male instead.” like SOOOOO true denise. she’s on levels we can’t imagine.

this korean butch lady is so cool she legally changed her name to lesvos, a variation of lesbos the birthplace of sappho. which is also the name of her lesbian bar, the first one ever established in south korea in 1996.

obsessed with how often women describe falling in love with other women as a quieting, a moment of stillness and calm where before there was noise.

[Image description: Illustration of a person and a mermaid kissing in a pool. The mermaid has dark skin, black to pink colored braids and a teal tail. The girl that kisses her has light skin, short wavy hair and wears a black bikini. The girl sits on the edge of the pool while the mermaid rest between her legs, hugging her waist. Next to them there is a water bottle, a towel and a ladder. End description]
I got to marry my wife, and our pupper was our flower girl. 2.5 years ago this wasn’t possible, as it wasn’t legal in Australia. It rained our whole wedding day, but was so worth it in the end with our phenomenal photographer.
ETA: realised the other photos might get lost in the reblog so adding more photos from our sneak peek. And wanted to thank our photographer, Matthew Eastgate Photography & Film, who captured these magical moments.

Further update: little Armstrong - Egan will be here in December 2021
I began Girls will be Bois, 2002-2007 because I was compelled to create a testament to my living history as a lesbian whose partners are often on the butch and masculine spectrum.
Butchness, particularly butch BIPOC are targeted with violence, repressed historically, and ignored by the media. Everywhere from popular culture to the law, female masculinity is treated as failed femininity – a monstrosity.
It was vital to me that I document and create a visual testimony of my community that could not be denied. As a queer photographer I felt that my medium was the best way to intervene in the ongoing attempt to marginalize my community. I also lost a friend during this time which had a profound impact on me. Kim, a young butch lesbian, tragically died from a brain aneurysm at 24 years old. Kim’s partner Michelle who had been with her virtually every day during the two years they were together, was not invited to the funeral where Kim was buried in pink suit and coffin with heavy makeup. Kim’s history is like that of so many queer people. Written by those who seek to deny it.
Girls Will be Bois will always be a historical project for me. Losing a friend and watching another friend be written out of her partner’s life, was a painful reality check about what was at stake if we do not record our own stories.
how could i not be utterly in love with you?
This is Doris Pollas, the cofounder of the organisation now known as lgbt+ Denmark which by being founded in 1948 is one of the oldest if not the oldest queer organisation in the world.
Doris lived in a farm in Jutland as a child. She was always butch and figured out she was a lesbian in her teens. When she heard about a club in copenhagen where boys kissed boys and girls kissed girls she went just some months after and it was through that club she started a paper connecting queer people all up to seventies and co founded lgbt+ Denmark.
She is now 97 year and wishes for every queer person to have an as loving and accepting family as she did.
I don’t see a lot of older gays from my country, so learning about Doris, a masc lesbian, was really nice.

So as y'all might have heard, we finally had our wedding/reception with all our friends and family.💕 We had a blast and my wife, who recently embraced butchness, got to be a lot more comfortable this time around. 💗 Our last photo set got some traction and I hope this one gets as much if not more, since it reflects us as we are and were meant to be. 😊💕🌹
Congrats!!
