(Related to this previous post) Some sets have a very heartwarming narrative - not only through the illustration but also through the card descriptions:

My Charmander is full of energy. I wonder how can we get along better?

[Charmeleon is] An important friend who is always with me. There are lots of stuff we want to talk about.

No matter what happens, if the bound between the two exists they can overcome. From now on, forever and ever.

I'm quite found of Pokemon card illustrations, it's hard to choose just one favorite style... For this post, I'd like to highlight those featuring trainer-pokemon moments.
